AbNESIV: The Rood and the Dragon (Development Thread)

Ooh, my first Neser from the elder generations.. I an honoured :D

What is holding you back? (an no, you cant have boom-sticks) ;)

This is how far I made it on the map today, I presume that with the current speed of working progress it will be done sometime tomorrow. Please have a look at it (Especially focus on some rivers in Scotland and Ireland that looks like it's cut over - it did on the other Europe map, and therefore I did the cut too here) and tell me if anything is to be corrected. I am not really familiar with British geography.

Sorry, I mean Page 2 post 33. It is PERFECT except a corner of European land and some scandinvanian land.

It continues to look excellent dear boy.

It will be a breeze for me to go over an tweak things, as well as adding some hills.

I really should get on with the ruleset should't I!

Can you just link me to it please.. I don't know what thread you are refering to...

Cheers.. for future help, if you click on the "33" to the top right of the post.. it will open it as a nice "single post" web page for you:

http://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showpost.php?p=401791&postcount=33

You can also do this on this website.. try clicking on the post count in the top right of this very post (107?) and see what I mean.

An yes, while it maps the rivers brilliantly, it isn't quite large enough to show the details of ~20 different "nations" fighting it out.

thankyou tho, i will reward you for these efforts.

Spoiler :
>.< I sweat my heart out and I get REWARDED! WHAT kind of ***** I don't want to be rewarded thank you!

(Thanks for the Reward *whistling*)

Thanks for the tip. Now I can do the Legends for my NES.

Hows this map?

edit - unfortunately it has dashed political borders, but we can remove those.

Ooh.. thats pretty darned good. But on inspection, there is pixellation around the borders.. if you try the "fill" option on MSpaint it goes wrong.. see :(

Any ideas how to fix this, or are we back to waiting LJ's efforts?

One could just carefully paint all the edges blue. I am game to do that, if you want me to it, that is.

Also, wanting to get in on the "extra credit" option, I went an searched a bunch of kingdoms to get Nation, Government (King), and Capital info.

Spoiler :
Nation: Chonnachta
Government: Monarchy (Ailill Molt)
Capital: Silgo
Religion: Christian

Nation: Uladh
Government: Monarchy (Muiredach Muinderg)
Capital: Navan Fort

Nation: Dál nAraidi
Government: Monarchy (Fíachna Lonn mac Cóelbad)
Capital: ?

Nation: Dál Riata
Government: Monarchy (Fergus Mór)
Capital: ?

Nation: Fortriu
Government: Monarchy (?)
Capital: Forres

Nation: Orcades
Government: Monarchy (?)
Capital: Camulodnum

Nation: Strathclyde
Government: Monarchy (Ceretic Guletic)
Capital: Traprain Law

Nation: Rheded
Government: Monarchy (Meirchion Gul)
Capital: Carlisle

Nation: Gododdin
Government: Monarchy (Lot)
Capital: Din Eidyn

Nation: Bryneich
Government: Monarchy (?)
Capital: Bamburgh

Nation: Ebrauc
Government: Monarchy (?)
Capital: Efrawg

What info I got is as close to date as possible. Some of the capitals are iffy, but if they aren't correct, they are logical. If you like this, I will get more later today.

EDIT: I started working on the map, and have northern scotland and the islands north of that done. I am stopping for , but will be back on it later. At the rate I am going at, I will most likely be finished by Saturday.

Or you could just convert it to 16 colours, change the palette so it contains white, black, blue, green, and a lot of purples, and then do a couple of fills. It wouldn't take more than a minute.

Thou Judases! I haveth completeth the mapeth!

And in thumbnail mode below. I am not completely satisfied with the Thames river, but it will probably do. :) I also took the liberty of adding three islands or so. Enjoy all!

Reserving Elmet.

Will write stats and stories later.

Crap.. i'm not sure which map to use now :(

Note to all catrographers.

I thank you, and am now working on the final version myself. No extra help is needed in this matter.

However, the more research you pull up about your, or any other nations involved during this period I will be most generous.

Do you need any more for Wessex? If not I will start on the unclaimed Scotish nations.

Anything any everything! ;)

The more info we have about the isles during this era the better!
