About city walls

Ok many things have been said about the cost and the effect of citty walls.

They DO cost nothing and TRIPPLE the defence.

Here's the proof...

The answer is no. I don't remember the threads but there were discusions about this were people were supporting that City walls do cost money...

I think the confusion exists because in the the original civilization.. City Walls DID have a maitenance cost.

Yes, apparently some people weren't entirely sure of the exacts on City Walls. But since I'm one of those people who love them ( can't stand seeing a city without one...

) I was well aware of the exacts...

he he he - well some people play with city walls all the time - I on the other hand almost never build city walls - I can almost always build something els, like any good city improvement or a diplomat or a caravan......

But it might also have something to do with the fact that I would have to build defense unites in order to actually use the city walls.

city walls are one of the first improvements I build - keeps the barbs from messing with me and no upkeep keeps the coffers full for other things.

I never build city walls because the AI is too stupid to figure out how to invade a city properly. Any invading force extinguishes itself before it even takes out one unit.
