I'm looking at the 'pedia right now... and Berber can be built by an African culture that has 'desert' and 'sheep' in its vicinity.
Both Carthage's (Typical Carthage settled zone) typical settlement pattern and Egypt's (Thebes) starting position allow them to build this Culture wonder.

Edit:
Any opinion on this,

Post Edit: Playing a game as Carthage and my one city to the west of Carthage can build the 'Berber' culture, and I locked the Celts out of Iberia by building a city in modern day Barcelona.

Oh yeah, its ok, i recheck the pedia and sheep close the question :-)

About rivers in two tiles island, i dont like the aesthetics, will be functional, but in game, the rivers are to big, and a two tile island will be desproportional with a river inside.

i think a three tile island (with a hill or mountain) will be more realistic.

If the memory dont trick me, in c2c, improvements in island, with a road will be conected with he rest of empire.

A better solution its ask to modders a new improvement what can be built together with normal improvements in islands or in water near island. A improvement like "foreing port" or something like this.

I think I will go with functionality until the improvement is created. I'm pretty sure that the river connections will allow 'resource in city vicinity' trigger to be read properly.
If you can test it and prove otherwise it would be greatly appreciated, as of right now though, the river through Sardinia allows my city of Carthage access to both the wine (in vicinity) and connection to the Obsidian.
I edited these 'rivers' in my game for a test run to see the effects.
The only islands that it really affect was the three I mentioned... Sardinia, Crete and Cyprus.

Can you post a print screen?

Can't build israeli culture in Jerusalem, it needs salt and desert and Jerusalem has olives and dunes.
Can't build hittite culture in Hattusas, it needs cows and Hattusas has deer.

I noticed that people seem to think Korea isn't doing so well in their games. I'm playing as the Yangshao currently, and Korea is one of the highest scoring civs, although that is mostly because early in the game I killed the Mongolians and burned all their cities down, which cleared a path for the Koreans to expand northwards and westwards. They've been fighting with the Jurchens on and off for most of the game, but they have gotten the upper hand, due to a very large technological edge.

Its too easy for them (koreans) to get trapped on 2 or 3 cities, possibly even 1. So in the majority of games the koreans are rat sh1t.

Without any help from me, Korea conquered the two Chinas, settled part of Siberia, Vietnam and Burma, being the dominant asian civ. Zulus, ethiopians and the civ in central Russia are also doing good.

Another reason why I took them out is due to the peninsular expansion advantage.
They only have one way to go, similar to Spain.

You had better taken out the ainu. In my game they are a one city state, with 20+ archers and watchmen, and Japan has since at least 300 turns a stack of 20+ horsemen near the city - they can't take it, but Ainu can do also nothing.

Saxon culture: I need to conquer Persia or the zulus to get it? It requires sapphires in city vicinity and there are no sapphires anywhere in Europe.
Not quite map related, but AI can't build ethiopian culture in the 10 city ethiopian empire, because they burned down all the jungles before theology.

The map dated 02/02/2013? Look in private maps in c2c. Otherwise u can just download it from page 1 of this thread.

Some cultural buildings just don't make sense.:crazyeye::lol:
No, I'm not putting Sapphires in Europe.

I have two pre 1500 giant earth maps, date untill 29.01.2013, and I don't know which one I chose.
OK, I'll stop commenting on the culture / ressource combination, since I'm not starting a new game now.

There used to be antique emerald mines in central europe, simply replace them with sapphires. Or take into account that the french invented the sinthetic sapphire and give them a sapphire ressource?

Now a real question: Why not make Iceland accessible by galley? It would give an expansion option for England or vikings.

really, really loving everyone's contributions to GEM, it gets more and more impressive all the time, kinda like C2C. :)

So I tried loading up a game with no presets. I picked 1 civ for each region (which was 7 civs total). I picked Roman and then started near the north pole. I quickly migrated south to avoid terrain damage. I first thought I was following the coast down in Asia. Especially because of the animals that spawned. But then when I got to what I though was the jungles of Southeast Asia it looked funny and way too small.

I went back north in where I though was China and settled my city. But then when I sent out explores around the coast it did not look like India at all. I then realized I was exploring the gulf coast and that I thought was Southeast Asia was really Florida! And where I thought was China was the east coast and the Appalachian Mountains!

It was very weird since all the animals were Asian ones and my exploring units died in Texas due to 2 Indian Rhinos! Now I know how Columbus felt when discovering the New World. Once I got gathering tech I could see there were corn and squash. This was definitely not China.

So to make a long story short I am a European civ, in North America with Asian animals spawning. :crazyeye:
