AD 1206 The Mongols! BTS

clever ! , should have mentioned i was playing the mongol horde in my game also

it's a shame 'complete kills' isn't in every scenario , it'd make it possible to 'liberate' invaded citys/ nations

nice scenario in a purely war mongering mode , one thing however , how are you supposed to conquor Xijin, it's a mountain city and units can't get in it
hmm I'll check that if it's on a mountain I'll have to change it to be on a hill plot so it can be moved into.

Okay, jsut something I noticed. Lastly, would it be possible to make a 'no new world' version of this scenario or you Rise of Islam? The new world doesnt add much and uses alot of comp power taking into account all of the extra tiles and 4+ additional civs.
Well I'm currently making a massive Earth map once it's done I'll make a cut down version with just the old world.

also another bug , not everyone you wipe out leaves the game , example , i took out lhasa, but i was still able to have dialogue with the tibeteans
No that's not a bug it's the setting Requires complete kills. I might make it so if you conquer all their cities their units explorer become barbarian units! This way your not at war with somebody that their whole Empire consists of one scout unit!

Thanks for the feedback guys! Makes me want to keep improving it for you! :)

I just uploaded version 1.00 with a ton of new updates new cities new civ new leaders civilopedia entries! check the Version Info post on Page 1 to see all the updates made!

Great mod i must say:goodjob:, going to download it as soon as i get my CivIV compleate for my Vista.
But there are some historical mistakes here in the scenario "The Mongols". Sweden was'nt at this time a superpower, while Norway was greatly expanding few years after the start of this scenario. So i recommend a Norse Empire instead of a Swedish Empire.
The Norse Empire could own these cityes:
1. Capital: Nidaros, Culture level: 42, Population: 3
2. City: Uppsala, Culture level: 40, Population: 3
3. City: Bjørgvin, Culture level: 12, Population: 4
4. City: Ribe, Culture level: 35, Population: 2
5. City: Reykjavik, Culture level: 5, Population: 1
And the civilizations name:
Description: Norse Empire
Short description: Noreg
Adjective: Norse
And the leader could be Håkon Håkonsson

If you want to change this I could give you pedia entries for Håkon Håkonsson and the norse empire. I could also send you a picture locating the cities I recommended for you.

If you're interested in changing this, just PM me :)

PS
Great mod i must say (again). Cant wait to download it. Hurray for the Navy Seal :king:

Dang, I'm having interface problems too... and I was really looking forward to playing this, I haven't seen a decent Mongol Empire mod since Warlords.

I tried playing both scenarios as the Jin and was never attacked by the Mongols .... went well after dates specified for war event as above. They attacked the Xi Xia (which are unplayable ... gone quickly) then nothing much happened.

I cannot get this to work. I try to load the game (the Mongol Horde version), and it says it cannot read the worldbuilder save correctly.
In the other game, it loads, and goes to the end of the game immediately and says I have lost. I do not know what is wrong, as it seems others are playing the game just fine. If anyone has any suggestions let me know, since I really want to try this out. I know it doesn't have a self-extractor, and I am pretty sure I have the stuff in the right place.
Thanks for any help.

Buckeye ... be sure that you are running BtS 3.17 and unzip the mod/scenario into the BtS Mods folder. The WB files will be in the Private Maps folder but do not execute from those icons. Start Civ4, select Advanced/Load a Mod/Mongols!, then selected Play a Scenario and both scenarios should appear at the top of the list. Worked fine for me first try.

In general, however, I often have problems installing and loading scenarios. Some of them require you to manually move the WB file over to Public Maps in BtS, or have cryptic instructions about putting the Mod in the Mods folder and the WB in Public Maps, but other pieces (like accompanying Public Maps) you don't know where to put. I've seen at least six different variations on things you need to do. There is one scenario ... Jeelen's Thomas's War that I've messed with for hours and still cannot find the right combination to get it to go.

It might be good if someone from Civ could give a thorough overview of Mod/Scenario installation so us non-developers could have a guide. Either that or instill some common procedure among developers prior to letting them upload.

farrapo the reason the Mongols didn't attack anyone else was because the events haven't been added so until they are the game is set up as you play the Mongols and conquer once the events are added you can play anyone and have the wars.

Combine this with Rhyes and fall and this will be the ultimate mod, i have only played once and tried do what Genghis khan did, i was slightly behind because lack of movement speed, up the keshiks movement speed by 1 and i probably won't have any difficulties achieving this. also the HRE only owned milan north, venice could be its own nation along with the papal states.

Hi, um, I think this mod may be outdated. I followed all those steps, but I'm using the 3.19 update now, and the game crashes whenever I try to load this mod. Which is kind of a bother, because I'd really like to play it.

I even did what you suggested, Farrapo, and put the WB files in the public maps folder. But to no avail.
Please make a new update? thank you.

Yes the version is outdated. Currently the only way to get it to work is to uninstall the 3.19 patch and put the 3.17 patch on. Sorry for the inconvenience but haven't been able to update 'em yet.
