I have aded Brazil, Indonesia, and the Incas to the Civ list, but U can't have the foriegn advisors to show, all there is, is a question mark. Anyone no how to fix it. Thanks

You need pedialicons.txt entries for them (and civlopedia.txt entries). You do have leaderheads for the civs, right?

Here's a thread you may find useful if you have PTW.
Adding new Civs and UU's in PTW
If you don't have PTW, still click on that link, but then click on the link that will be posted in the first few lines and it will take you to an article about adding new civs with v1.21f (the same steps will be followed for v1.29f).

I tried what you suggested but it still dosn't work. Thanks anyway though, do you have any other suggestions?

Do you have the art files for the foreign advisor screen in your Art/advisors folder? And an art file in the art/leaderheads folder? And do you have an entry in the pedialicons.txt file like this: (but substituting Romans for your civ and CE with the letters for your files)

#RACE_ROMANS
art\leaderheads\CE.pcx
art\advisors\CE_all.pcx

Do you have art files in the art/civlopedia/icons/races folder? And an entry in the pedialicons.txt file like this: (again making changes for your particular civ and file names)
#ICON_RACE_ROMANS
art\civilopedia\icons\races\romanslarge.pcx
art\civilopedia\icons\races\romanssmall.pcx

Does the leaderhead show up in other places (like in the civlopedia), or in the game start menu when choosing which civ to play? Knowing this will help troubleshoot whether it is just the foreign advisor screen, or all the files for the new civ that is causing the problem.

The only time I see the leaders is at the begining and when I talk to them in person. The rest have ?.

ok, so the .flc files (animations) are correct and in the right places. :)

There is just a problem with the .pcx files. Did the leaderhead you download come with .pcx files? There should be art files with names like:

BR_all
IncaLarge
IncaSmall
BR
BR_ANG
BR_CONQ
BR_CONQ_L
etc., etc.

Make sure you have these files, they are in the correct folders, and they are cross-referenced in the pedialicons.txt file (check the spelling, as one typo will cause a problem), and the entries are grouped with the other civs (like all the _ANG entries should be together, you'll see this by looking at the other entries). The last part of the name (.pcx) you need to type in the pedialicons.txt file, but the files themselves in the art folder do not need the .pcx at the end.

I also like to keep all the names exactly the same, like for the Incas, I make sure the civ is called 'Inca' everywhere, and all entries say 'Inca' not 'Incas' or 'Incans'.

In the editor under the civilazations tab, you should have 'Race_Inca' in the civlopedia box.

Are you using PTW or Civ3 v1.29f?
If using PTW, make sure you've created a folder inside your scenarios folder that is the name of your mod, and put an art folder and a text folder inside your mod's folder, with the necessary folders and files inside these.
Inside your art folder you should make new folders so they will be broken down like this:
Civ3PTW
-Scenarios
---Your mod's folder
------ART
---------Advisors (the _all files)
---------Civlopedia
------------Icons
---------------Races (Incalarge, Incasmall files)
---------------Units
---------Flics (the .flc files)
---------Leaderheads (all the other files, like _ANG, _CULT, etc.)
---------Units
---Your mod's .bix file

And under scenario properties for the part where it says 'scenario search folder' you have the name of your mod's folder.

I hope this helps and isn't too confusing :undecide:
