Warning: I am a noob.

I have spent hours looking through different threads but was unable to find an answer to this question: Is there any way I can take user-made civs and/or leaderheads (apart from the ones StrategyOnly recently posted on the main C2C thread) and add them to play with the C2C mod? I see how to add civs to the basic BTS game, but I am very confused as to how I might be able to add them to the C2C mod. I tried experimenting w/ putting them in the C2C/Assets/Modules/Custom_Civilizations folder with no success. Is this even possible? I appreciate anyone taking the time to answer this question. I also appreciate everyone who took the time to develop this mod and the mods upon which it is based.

Please excuse my noobdom. I did spend hours trying to find an answer to this on my own.

New folders under 'modular' are not loaded automatically. You need to add an entry to the MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml file (in the case of leaderheads the one inside 'modules/Custom Leaderheads' I think). SO can probably confirm.

New LHs or rather New faces would be nice. Also what happened to all the New Female LHs?

New civs would be hard since you have to give them the special culture buildings as their unique building. Plus why would you need to since all civs have been stripped of their unique units and buildings now? There is no need for new civs since all civs are the same at the start now.

I was hoping that adding civs would be as simple as 'move file A and folders B and C to folder X' or something along those lines but I understand now that it is not that simple. As to WHY I would want to add them: It would give me more personal satisfaction to wage war against and conquer a civ named Italy w/ a leader like Mussolini or a civ named Canada while seeing that maple leaf flag as opposed to battling the Khmer, Malinese, or Portuguese empires (because I don't really know anything about them). It will be more satisfying (for me at least) to take down Germany under Hitler (ty for adding him) than Bismarck or Frederick. Anyways its really not a big deal. Just wanted to answer your question.

I suspect it can be done by switching out files and editing XMLs. If the Civ you want is already made for another mod, then putting those in place of some of the Civs in C2C may accomplish what you want.

Adding completely new Civs is a whole other issue. SO may be able to advise on this.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few fictional or pseudo-real Civs in my games. Even if they don't have special units or what not, it just adds a little more fun to the game on a conceptual level. Maybe I'm silly, but I think it would be funny for a Zombie nation to arise as an event from building a World Wonder. And I mean Zombies created from "biological accidents" etc. versus gothic-esque zombies.

On that same vein, it would be funny for a nation of Apes to arise.

Right now as it stands with ALL the new updates that will be coming, it will be impossible to add new civs, UNLESS you are really really good at XMLing. Adding one good civ (not those of only one UU/UB, i believe ALL those civs made by people, no offense to them, but they completely SUCK) can take sometimes up to 4-6 hours of work.

I consider a civ to be added to a game NOT less than 10 units included. Otherwise your using the same ole same ole units as regular Civ. And thats not really a civ then its just a LH with e new name for a Civ, thats it. If you just want names of civ, heck you can have hundreds of them, but to actually have different LOOKING civs is a different story (IMHO).

I will eventually get around to adding ALOT of civs as the mod progresses, but even the ones i have ow except for the Apache (it is updated now) are not updated for the new information that has been added to this GREAT mod.

All leaderhead information has to be changed in LeaderheadInfo, alot of info in CivilizationInfo has to be changed, all PRE-MADE maps have to be definitely remade. UnitArtStyles would have to be redone, the list goes on.

So i guess in short, no would be your answer for now, but requesting a civ, once in awhile won't hurt.:) Hows that sound? My main motto is "Just Have Fun."

This one contains more LH than the pack in the main C2C thread.
This SHOULD work with current version but I did not test it in every aspect.

Install:
1. Extract to Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Assets\Modules\
(Allow the overwriting of the CIV4ModularLoadingControlsSchema.xml and the MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml.)
2. Run (execute) the woc_installer.jar file in Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Assets\Modules\
(This merges the custom audio for some of the LHs)
3. (optional) Switch on/off any LH in the MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls.xml
Example:
<Module>
<Directory>AbuBakr</Directory>
<bLoad>1</bLoad>
</Module>
If bLoad is 1 AbuBakr will be in the game if 0 he won't.

@Desolator

Are these for existing C2C civs or additional ones too?

Beware, the art for civs/leaders tends to add significantly to memory footprint. If your game is at all marginal on MAFs this might push it over the edge.

Yes, they are all for existing civs. (Leader may not be appropriate in some cases.)

Is is the other pack extended with more lhs. English language recommended, because some lhs did not have its own xml, so, other had to be used.

OK, when your dealing with LH's for instance, you can NOT just add any LH to this mod, sorry everyone, it has to be done in a certain format, that can NOT be different from the main schema.

You have to make sure that each and every LH has this for sure:

1. You add the lines between : <!-- BBAI Victory Strategy --> Mandatory (Well actually all the list is mandatory really)

2. You have add this line in the memory area:
Code:
				<MemoryDecay>
					<MemoryType>MEMORY_INQUISITION</MemoryType>
					<iMemoryRand>25</iMemoryRand>
				</MemoryDecay>
3. You have to add this line in the percentage area:
Code:
<MemoryAttitudePercent>
					<MemoryType>MEMORY_INQUISITION</MemoryType>
					<iMemoryAttitudePercent>-100</iMemoryAttitudePercent>
				</MemoryAttitudePercent>

4. For this mod then in the Diplomacy Music area(s) are way different than normal.
You HAVE to make sure you have ALL the Era's listed here in EACH and EVERY music area below this that this mod has, ie: Prehistoric/Ancient/Classical/Medieval/Renaissance/Industrial/Modern/Transhuman/Galactic and Future.

But one you get the hang of it, it not that hard, i thought i had the LH package all made out already, isnt that in the 1st or 2nd post of the main mod area?

Now when dealing with civs it a whole new ballgame again.

AFAIK all LHs have the values you mentioned. I can't check it all, but they have iCultureVictoryWeight, iSpaceVictoryWeight, iConquestVictoryWeighti, DominationVictoryWeight, iDiplomacyVictoryWeight between the <!-- BBAI Victory Strategy --> lines.
Also random checked a few (new), and the MEMORY_INQUISITION lines are there.
The music eras are there as well (prehistoric, transhuman, and galactic too).
As i mentioned, this pack contains all lhs from the main thread pack, plus 47 more (if i'm not mistaken). Use (or don't use) at will.
