Adding Religions to BtS?

Ok, what's the trick in order to get the new GameFont icons for the new Religion to work?

It kind of confuses me where to put it, because the Corporations are smack next to the Religion icons.

Do I need to put the new Religious icon at the end of the Corporations, or move all the Corporations over... or what? :sad:


I wish Firaxis would of did the same thing with Religions/Corporations like they did with Resources... you can identify which GameFont icon to use with the Resource via XML.
 
I'm struggling with this exact same issue with the moment with a new Commerce I just added. I've got the font in the font files, but can't figure out how to tell the game to use it.
 
New new commerces should go next to the Espionage icon towards the top of the GameFont file.


But these damned Religion/Corporation icons are a mystery...


... anybody?
 
You have to "move over" the corporation icons in order to add new religious icons, the new religious icons must be added directly after the last religion icon but before the first coporation icon. I'd post a screenshot, but I am at work...

Yeah, that helps alot... but it's also what I was afraid of. Not that it's hard to move the corporate icons over... it's just a PITA.

You got it, if you are not too experienced in working with this file, just be aware that you must move the alpha channel for each icon with it in addition to moving the icon itself. This threw me off and I was stuck for a while until I figured it out. If you need more detailed info, PM me...

Nah, I think I can handle it. I've played with the GameFont files before, alpha channels and all. :)

But thanks for the offer. :king:

THAT's what I was missing! Thanks for that.

I fixed it in my mod, but it's causing the game to crash now. Probably a formatting issue with the fonts file. Anyone know the specifications it should saved at?

I guess you have seen the religions I added. I just wanted to let you know there seems to be a limit of 92 slots for corporations and religions total. I don't think you a planning to add that many, but I went crazy with it. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make icons come directly from dds files over the city bar instead of the gamefont.tga.

Wait you mean you got 92 Religions and Corporations working and the citybar isn't messed up?:eek:

I made 47 religions and kept the Corporations that were already there. I had no problems over the city bar but the 47th religion would not display in city info in the religion screen. I began adding corporations and had no problems, but I did not make it all of the way to 45 corporations.

I did this by extending the background of the tga file not just putting icons in the blank spaces. I have the link for this in my signature. So I it works so far. Check it out.
