I think we need to advertize a bit, to see if we can attract new players or pull old ones back to the game. However, I'm not especially creative in that way. I would be happy to post an advert in the forum news and announcements, just need one or more creative people to help write it.

I think we need heated debates and different policy options, if we just have a supportive choir to "run of the mill" war mongering and default conquest/genocide - many of us will get bored. However, healthy and high intensity debates, polling and political drama - will generate traffic and attention. I have been purposely trying to add some new flavor to this, and hopefully some will pick up on this, and not habitually torpedo my inputs.

I agree with you: participation, analysis, arguements, that's the good way.

But that is not exclusive of any style of play.

In the conquest of a continent, there is plenty of room for the warmongers to

speak about the troops they need, where they enter the theater, where they

go to, the timings of each conquest, the war garrisons and more, AND to do the

troops request (type, numbers, time and location to be put under their orders.

And for the builders (may I humbly see myself as one of them) to speak about

where to build the troops, how to support economy under war, pacific builds.

where cities pop must be, what workers must do to economy and to war.

Do you want to try? If yes, count me in.

Best regards,

The fact is, saying "I need this" "I need that" is not debate, it's requests. If there are conflicts, it might spark some debates, but it tends to be rather specialized; it can take a lot of thought to get engaged. On the other hand, debates over long-term policy tend to be much more lively, because you don't need to do intensive research to engage in it effectively.

Slighty off topic, but shouldn't nominations for term 5 be today, maybe we could ask TF to put it up on the noticeboard

Well, this thread title managed to catch my attention. Was going to my User Account and saw the "advertize" and thought to myself "What idiot spelt advertise wrong?" Went to check it out and did a "Oh, THAT idiot."

Honestly, I'll try to check up on the forums and get involved again.

:listens for the collective groan:

So that's the trick, wrong spellings in thread titles?

We don't need to go to Thunderfall for announcement, mods can do that. What I was asking for is some suggested text to make it more creative than I can do myself.

Not just mods...:mischief:

I'll be honest, I had totally forgot about this game until dutchfire PM'ed me. I suggest sending PM's to former players, see if that will rekindle their interest.

"Gentle Persuasion" :D

Donovan_Zoi
classical hero
CivGeneral
Nobody

Edit: Also what happened to the turnchats?

Still having them. Right now eagerly awaiting a scheduled time from the next DP.

Ahh, just wondering. I really don't see much activity in the #turnchat room much anymore. Although if your holding them offline now.. that would be why ;).

Not all of the turnchats are offline. The other elected DPs for this term have had the TC online in the chat room during previous terms.
