Afforess's Modmods

I wish I could play on a huge map. I get what you are describing a lot on a small map with only 5 AIs. You should feel lucky you can play such a big game without crashing.

3GB of RAM with increaseversa (however you spell that for Vista and that special explorer that modify .exe to address more than 2gb of memory helps a bit. But yeah, after this game, I plan on just sticking with Standard size.

BTW, I just tested removing Civic Attitude by Jooyo, Vicinity mod, and 3 Plot Radius by Jooyo. The turns are slightly better. So yeah, probably you are right about them. But it is all for good cause :D.

Afforess, I didn't mean to pour salt in an old wound about the World's Fair, yours is the first modmod I've tried and that jumped out of the civilopedia.

I thought I saw, running your installer, a reference to a Revolutions 'cheat,' but I don't see it listed in your first post on this thread. There is now a unrest number when I rollover city bars, which I guess is what that did. And the civics screen now tells me what numerical effects they're having. What I'd like if possible is the turn to turn change in unrest on that rollover, like the option for the BUG scoreboard.

Better yet, the bribe city button on the city screen still gives the generic color coded word description of the factors affecting unrest. If you could change that to give numbers and details, I think it would be more helpful.

I am running RoM 2.8 and installed Afforesses Addons 1.4 and now generalstaff Building Pack 1.1

However, it is asking me to overwrite some files (MLF_CIV4ModularLoadingControls; zCivics).

Should I overwrite these or will this break something in Afforess or RoM?

My Install order was RoM 2.8, then Afforess, then generalstaff building pack.

Please help and clarify.

No, dependency's don't cause crashes. They are used to interact with other modmod's.
 
At last! Sorry for waiting many time but I don't have much time yet, but now I've got a few time, and I created that new building, the Barber Shop.

I have a patch to 1.41, a simple patcher on the OP. It IS save game compatible. There are no real gameplay changes, so don't download it, unless you have CTD issues.
 
Afforess, I have request but I am putting it here because I think it is more urgent. If you have noticed the combat strangth and combat modifiers have not been displaying since Bull was merged in. Jodog has made a fix in the Revdcm SVN fixing this. After your modmoding break could you merge this in? It is very annoying.
On a smaller note are you planning to merge Better AI 0.82?

Indeed. I will likely have a 1.42 patch by next weekend with both things.
 
Hi, Afforess, I love you modmod, I've been using your betas in the last few months as well, but now I can't D/L the latest version. My provider makes a big fuss with people using torrent, and I'm not able to use this method for D/L. Is there any chance of a non-torrent D/L? Thanks and keep up the good work!!

There is a non-torrent download. Please reread the FAQ.
 
BTW, did you notice that when I said events weren't working I did not just mead that the "woth pictures" bit was not working but that some of the events like the one in the picture were still not working. In that example I could have +1happy or one unhappy or one unhappy - these were my choices I did not get the +1 healthy or +2 healthy in the options.

I have noticed that the event where you have a chance of getting health bonus by experimenting on people (it usually comes up early) doesn't display any health bonus on the two choices where it should. I don't think this is related to a modmod.
 
I tried to install 1.40 just now and it says I don't have permission to access the directory it wants to install into. Could this be because 1.35 is already installed? The game isn't running, so I ruled out that the directory is being used at the moment.
This is an awesome pack of mods by the way. I can't imagine going back to regular Civ4 after ROM and this. Cheers for it. Wish I could get this update installed though.
 
sorry, solved it. Changed my admin controls on the folder to allow for everything and it worked. However, an error occurred at the end of the install (error installing uninstall program) and the installation hangs without finishing. I tried to reinstall over everything, but it wouldn't run until all previous Afforess's Modmod files were removed. haha I can't do that now cause the uninstall program never installed. wow... that all sounds strange.

It's fairly easy to figure out problems with python tracebacks. See, it's pointing to a game option. Game options are controlled by the DLL, so you must have changed 1 file, like the Civic Screen. Revert back to the older civic screen, and the error should go away.
