promote another sipahi and raze Aleppo

IT settler pair landed close to furs colony, but since we blocked all closeby landing spots, the town won't take it away

2. 1585AD
surround the settler pair.

check and we would get 5 cities in a peace deal with Persia, now if we can capture 3 Sumer towns in that same turn we have a second army
but need to wait 4 more turns.

IT Sumer defends well. suddenly Persian infantry appears out of nowhere and kill 1 sipahi

7. 1610AD
finally the moment has come, we get peace for 6 cities, now 2 more and we have a 2nd army :rolleyes:
( by the way, it was impossible to get all island cities from Persia)
mobilize again, bombard and take susa with 2 vet sipahi. bombard and capture Marad, form 2nd army :dance:
raze Kisurra, raze Babil with a elite sipahi loss, west is cleared
1st army razes Kua and we gain cannon and arty, sell improvements and abandon towns
Persia down to 6
unhappiness is very strong due to razing towns, need to increase lux to 20%

IT sipahi defends against inf attack

close choke north of our city, attack Apisala and get another leader, what to do with it? rush IA with it
get gems colony

IT one sipahi gets retreated

9. 1620AD
raze Der and wine is ours again

IT lose an inf on defense, Persia recaptures Dabrum in the north, Der is refounded and get pollution :mad: build delayed due to that

10. 1625AD
1st army raze Hubshina, raze Der again, clear 6 inf in or near our territory

IT The Hague is Sumer now, seems they exchange towns, that's good

11. 1630AD
clear 1 inf and advance arty towards Erech, armies need to heal

IT Vitcos is Sumer now and the town next to it has salt, let's hope Persia can hold it :eek:

12. 1635AD
lose 1 sipahi clearing inf

IT irritating Kua is founded again next to wines

13. 1640AD
clear Kua with elite sipahi, raze Erech

14. 1645AD
move on to Isin, slow progress due to arty support but with sipahi we need them
clear 2 inf and lose an elite sipahi

IT Sumer tries to take Dabrum with 6 inf but loses 5 of them
the stream of inf into our territory has stopped, is that a sign of being gassed?

15. 1650AD
raze Isin with the help of 3 sipahi + army
since we have 4 arty in our core to spare, attack Arbela in the north, lose 1 sipahi, raze it taking Bach's and 12 slaves
our arty stack is approaching Ur. If we fear salt in their hands, we should aim to take out the horses faster
Sumer is down to 10 cities, Persia has 5 cities. I left them mostly alone in the north, making sure Persia is busy and won't try to settle land
Combustion is finally in next turn, recommend to build a transport and go after the island cities with a decent stack
research on AI side seems to have ceased with no new techs up except fascism. Even forgot to plant spies since it's not essential, next player can do that.
Once peace is up with Persia, we can easily eliminate them. This game won't come back to me, I wonder how many turns left

I always have to smile when I see this. we all have been playing 15 turns, I wonder if this is called peace time, how does war then look like :lol:
 
I mention it because people shouldn't feel pressed to play 15 turns in an arty war era. I won't stop you from playing 5 more if you enjoy it. We all have had our fair share of turns.

AG10 was more intense and there we actually needed a rest after ten (in the age of bombers, Mech Infs, etc...)

It's fun to see that this one is far easier than AG10 (which I considered an awesome win). This has to be because we were able keep the war-times going, preventing real growth of Sumeria and Persia.
 
I think us being located in a crossroads between all the civs has helped a lot too..

I think it got this easy on DG only because of lucky placement..

Sipahi are just brutal in human hands. Our choice of UU help a lot even if we waited to long for it.

I think the biggest reason that this is easier than AG10 is that this is 80% water instead of 70% (my guess by looking at the map, Aggie never stated the setting).

Also we got lucky at the beginning in trading. Our location certainly helped. This one feels even easier than AG9.

We have 76 slaves, and still seems like we have some units stitting on mountains just to scout for landings.. take 10 of the slaves and make outposts that give full view of all the northwestern areas.

upgrade the last cannon to artillery

move up the sipahi that was doing nothing but busting fog

IBT:

2 sumerian infantery suicide against one of our infantery in mountains, and promites our infantery to elite


1655AD, turn 1:

Turn off research, since any research we do with positive cashflow will not finish before the game is over, so might as well save up some cash for spymissions.

attempt to plant a spy in sumeria, but get caught

bring in all hurt sipahi in the field to heal up in capital, use atrillery that cant get into reach of Ur this turn to bomb all summerian infantery in the north

Since we have iron inside borders now, and no ai units can get in reach of it, I take the infantery on iron colony and place it on a mountain next to Dabrum to scout better

bombard 5 infantery in Ur.
army takes out two 2/4 infantery

5/5 sipahi kills 1/4 infantery, take no damage
raze Ur with ToA (and prolly other wonders, didnt check)
Get an artillery and 5 workers and 27 gold.

make an oil colony so we can build transports (forgot to do it last turn)

hmm.. transports dont get extra shields from mobilization.
disband a slave and rush a shortrush the transport with a settler

use rest of artillery to bombard Antioch, it is defended by 3 infantery.
Use 2nd army to kill off the first 2 infantery
a 4/4 sipahi then flawlessly kills a 3/4 infantery and raze the city for 27 gold and 3 workers

use 3 sipahi and kill off all hurt sumerian units in view.

Realize I can use the atrillery I captured in ur, and use it to hurt another summerian unit

Make an outpost in the east

after getting a little flamed a few turns ago, I feel our strategies (letting AI's fight each other while building our infra) have really worked well. sipahi are monsters, I agree.

Aggie, if you don't mind, I am surely interested in your deity 0CC.
 
I don't think ThERat knows what he is getting himself into. In his post, it looks like he wrote a 0 (zero) instead of a O. Winning on Deity without any cities may prove challenging.

I don't think there is any player crazy enough to try a Zero city challenge. :rolleyes:
 
By the way, I realize that this isn't the proper place to sign up, but if you lose a player from this crew I'd love to have the spot in the Deity game.
