It may appear that I played a good set of turns today. I'm sure that they are good enough for deity level. But please don't spare me in the comments! I appreciate kind words, but surely there are things that strike you as odd. Please mention them. I could learn from it
I'm sure that we still have a tough task. We just killed the weakest civ, one that was at war with another one for ages. But...our reputation is gone and this is still a Sid game. We won the battle, but it is going to be a long war.
Having said that, there are a couple of things going great in this game:
-Only 20 turns ago Sumeria had an army that was average to ours. They can't be THAT big.
-We see what happens when two civs are at war for a long time. They cripple each other.
-We are behind in tech, but not more than a typical deity hole.
-We have a healthy and potentially strong empire.
I'm wondering what our best strategy will be as from now. It might be a good idea to start a phoney war on the other continent. We could declare on the Inca tribe and get Portugal as our allies (seafaring civ that can reach us).
On our continent I would normally say that Sumeria is a logical next choice. They probably are only a bit stronger than we are. But we share a long border with them,. Quite the opposite with the Byzantines. They may have a strong military, but must go through Sumeria to reach us. So the Byzantines look like a logical choice.
