Age of Colonisation

By "step," do you mean upgrade?

Yes, I would say upgrade. The first step, Harquebusier unit come with Gunpowder TECH, the first upgrade (Musketeer) come with the Matchlock TECH, the second upgrade (Fusilier) come with the Professional Armies TECH and the third upgrade (Line Infantry) come with the Nationalism TECH.

That sounds like a pretty good upgrade chain. Would there be halberdiers at all?

The game start with Pikemans for european,s ottoman, safavids and barbary coast civs, then the Pikemans upgrade to Pikes and second upgrade to Fusiliers.

does what have another upgrade EX?

Imperator, I just got done deleting two folders I found in my "TAC" folder, namely TAC1 and TAC2 which together added up to over 800 mgs :faint: (I'm really fighting right now to keep my hd above 15% if possible)

I assume these are back-ups but could you please not include them in the next full download?

Yes, you're right. Sorry, but I was in trouble with uploading files anf I have first splitted the Mod in two small files and after I have reuploaded the Mod to StormOverCiv in one single file. Sorry again.:)

Are you going to eventually fix the problem that you can't explore ocean tiles as the Europeans?

Are you going to eventually fix the problem that you can't explore ocean tiles as the Europeans?

It is intended. The europeans cannot explore ocean tiles because they must first discover a tech that can permit them to built caravels or carracks. At the start of game only Spain have the caravels and can explore ocean tiles. Others European civs have only galleass or cogs that are naval units that cannot explore ocean tiles.

Does Portugal have caravels or carracks?

At the start of game Portugal doesn't have caravels but have an advantage over others european civs because has just discovered the Tech that can permit to built the caravels (Ship Building - maybe I think I will rename it Ocean Ship Building ;)).
Later in game Portugal, like oters european civs can discover another Tech that permit building of carracks.

Yeah, because Portugal was out there colonizing really soon after Spain.

You're right, Dominatrix. Moreover, as a further advantage, Spain and Portugal start game with some Colonist Units, the others european civs not, they must first built an Improvement named Colonist Recruiter that produce a Colonist every 18 turns.

Yeah, thanks for letting me know. Now I know at least it's not fruitness hoping a tech allows it, because a tech does allow it! ;)

And thanks and a good thing allowing all European civs to aventually get the carrack, because almost all of them explored something or another when colonization was at its height ;)
