I was playing a game all day today - conquest, warlord, regular map with 4 other players on pangea. So we're all really snug on the borders, always in contact, always trading .. well up until the modern times everyone was always 'polite' or 'gracious' to me, and likewise.
Then I find myself in modern times, and everyone's pissed off at me. I can't figure out why, but suddenly i'm a tricky, sneaky, evil, war mongering threat to the planet and i'm at war with civs who were friends with me probably 20-30 turns ago.
I know i'm probably doing something wrong - like I said I only play on warlord - but I can't figure it out. I hate fighting, because i'm not good at it either. I pay other people to fight for me.
Getting gold is just about my only strength. That and maybe keeping up in terms of science.
Any help or am I just experiencing imperfect AI?
