AI Cheating...Again?

I've long thought the AI can see much more than the human player, possibly the whole map.

I am always amazed how its exploratory units head straight for the Goody Huts - not always, but I have seen it. Also, they seem to be able to sniff out HN units I have in my cities from miles away.

I dunno, it just seems to me that while certain terrain can block my view (even for units with Sentry), the AI doesn't appear to have this problem.

Huts is an area where the AI doesn't cheat. The human is better than the AI at spotting and taking huts.

Actually, AI seems surprisingly fair with vision. When they attack you, if they haven't seen a city, say one that is poorly defended, they often ignore its existence. Sometimes they see it on the way to their ACTUAL target however, which is a bit of a bummer.

Yeah, that always suck. Those new cities you jus made never seem to survive a war. :( Always depressing.

Well, I beleive since Kael and team did all the programmin over the basic Vanilla code, they set the rules. So, take it up with them. The AI only does wat it's programmed to do it. And, btw, the AI does exactly the same thing in Vallia Civ, jus with wonders and projects stead of heroes.

These statements are quite contradictory, it would seem they didn't program anything of this if the AI behaves the same way in Vanilla. And just so you know, modders can't program everything.

No. I said programming OVER. That's the keyword. Meaning they took the basic vanilla code (way back when FfH was still vanilla based) and put changes into it, etc. But the AI is still the AI. The team can make improvements, but since the AI was stupid to begin with...it's like teachin a very dumb kid how to read. He can read, but he can't read very well.

Basically wat I'm sayin is that there is only so much that Kael and Team can do to improve the AI. The AI, after all, is NOT human and only has a limited abilty to imitate humans. (AI, artificial intelligence. Meant to imitate humans. No game has ever come up with AI that is as smart as humans however.) So, the FfH team can only do so much.

PS. I am a strong believer of conspiracy theories, love the X-Files, and think at least half the members of this forum are space aliens, or orcs, or something. :)

Umm, well, Nathaggabfluten! (Run, he's on to Us!)
More Serously, I two think the AI has certain powers beyond it's listed abilities.

After getting beat to Kythra Kyriel and the Baron on successive turns by Thessa I am sure something is rotten in Bruti. ;)

The elves were far back in technology, yet somehow beelined Feral Bond (must have taken many turns) and got both of these heroes while I was a few turns away from Kythra - the Baron would have been next.

I quit that game, but I would bet somehow those elves would beat me to Yvain too no matter what I did. I was able to get the Trojan Horse though.
