Considering the number of cities I had in my Empire during my German domination run and annoying administrating and micromanagement that followed, I regretted that I started razing cities only in the end game.
But I don't usually raze cities, either. Unless it's captured AI city in a horrible place.
I don't know... Considering I was able to pick up almost all CK2 content DLCs (9 of them) for only 50 euro's combined just a few weeks ago though, I'd say you should be fine.

Devil's advocate: CK2 is over 6 and a half years old. You paid, for an admittedly huge amount of content, nearly full release price on the base. Meanwhile, V let you buy the complete version for ~$12.50 after 6-7 years. I stuggle to believe that the content is four times as much as V Complete, even if it is a lot more.

I don't think the Paradox model would work at all for Civ. The Paradox a la carte DLC works fine with their base, and I think a lot of people that frequent this site would ultimately be on board for that model. However, like the denizens of this forum, that is not the majority of Civ players. The playerbase would, more likely, turn up their nose at having to shift through the notes of each DLC to figure out if it fit them. The current model is easy there are no hidden mechanics to sort out and a reasonable number of DLC items to pick from. Makes it quick and easy and I think you see a lot more "Day 1" players because of it. That model, in my estimation, is vastly superior for Civ.

I don't doubt that, given some time, my CK2 game time (currently some 120 hours only 6 weeks after buying the game) will eclipse four times my Civ V game time (slightly over 400 hours, so CK2 reaching 1600 hours). On top of that, I'll have more fun doing it as CK2 is just amazing while in Civ V I was always battling against increasing science and culture costs and global happiness.
Last night I had a dream that my friend messaged me on Steam saying there was a new Civ6 update that made everything more streamlined and I think it implied that there were new mechanics as well. I woke up half-asleep thinking "yoooo I have to get up right now and go check to see what the new update is!" and it's even the same day that they posted the First Looks for the new R&F civs. Needless to say I'm a bit disappointed that my brain wasn't able to predict the future, since there's no update...

You know how in Endless Legend you right click and it sends you back to the previous screen?
Firaxis should just STEAL THAT. All companies should. It's just too good to only be in one game. It should be a gaming convention, right-click always sends you back a screen.
I'm so tired of going all the way to the top left corner to click the 'x' then immediately going all the way to the top right corner to click another 'x'. Really. So. Tired.
As @Hakan-i Cihan pointed out, many cities in the Near East have been continuously inhabited since 9,000 BC. There most certainly were cities in 4,000 or even 5,000 BC (taking into account that what would be called a city in 4,000 BC would be called a tiny hamlet that might not even have its own name in AD 2018).
