That's a reasonable thing for them to release prior to the holiday shopping season.

If this is the plan, I would expect it to come out with a patch, to boost positive feedback from current users.

I expect it would come with a patch. I'd almost hope it would come with say a freebie R&F DLC to boost purchases though that seems less likely (and if it does happen, I'd expect it to be something small along the lines of the revamped New World scenario they did with 5 Complete).

Personally, now that arguing Norway's case is no longer needed, I find myself instead arguing the case of the Sámi, but I'm not sure I expect them for this mystery expansion/DLC, or even this game. Certainly not expecting them above fan favourites like the Ottomans, Byzantium or Portugal. All I can do is hope.

March could be realistic for 2nd expansion. I’m curious how many weeks firaxis will take from announcement till release. First announcement from R&K was like 10-11 weeks or so i beleave. Perhaps second or third week januari to avoid holidays.

As discussed above, we don't know. The packages don't contain the mystery DLC. It could be a repackaging of what's already been released in advance of the holiday shopping season.

Do you think they'd announce something completely new before the Switch release date in mid November?
All I'm hoping for now is some 2018 Fall patch, with some balance pass. I lost all hope they will revamp the UI until the second expansion is released.
