All The World's A Stage

The mod will update when he updates, he's doing us a favor not the other way around, demanding the update annoys the mod, and unnecessarily bumps the thread.

Once a mod has agreed to update, it is annoying for him to simply give up- if you can't handle an NES (I'm not accusing Warman17 of this, but other mods have demonstrated such a trait), you shouldn't start one.

I may have already said this but I update over two days. I do most of the work on Friday then polish it off on Saturday and post. This is why I want orders on Thursday from now on.

They shouldn't make promises they won't keep- it's already past Saturday and there's no news on the update.

@thewesley
And I shouldn't be thinking about strangling people through the computer monitor, but I find myself wanting to do so more and more lately. Patience is a virtue, and you're acting childish. It's not past Saturday yet, and even if it doesn't get here until next Saturday, you'll get the hell over it and wait by the keyboard. You're being rude. Rudeness is quite unacceptable.

1- It isn't childish to demand that people deliever what they promised on time.
2- Patience is not always a virtue- to take the stereotypical example, Neville Chaimberlain's didn't help.
3- Actually, I was considering quitting this NES and the update isn't helping.
4- It isn't rude to demand that people deliever what they promised on time. If the schedule is unreasonable, he should change it.

There's still 3 hours left in Saturday. Don't complain until he's late.

I was not complaining, just asking about it. Once he is late, I have the right to complain for the reasons mentioned.

1. It is. Deadlines are loose, loosen up.
2. Chamberlain appeased. He tolerated, not had patience.
3. Warman has a life. He doesn't click the refresh button every waking hour of the day.
4. And he might not have time to contact us.

Stop acting like a brat that didn't get his McDonald's.

1. It is. Deadlines are loose, loosen up.

That is an assumption. Care to establish it?

2. Chamberlain appeased. He tolerated, not had patience.

Given his post-Munich rhethoric, it seems likely he was building up for a general war.

3. Warman has a life. He doesn't click the refresh button every waking hour of the day.

Remeber, all I am asking is that he deliever his product on time.

4. And he might not have time to contact us.

Then he shouldn't have made the promise in the first place.

Stop acting like a brat that didn't get his McDonald's.

Even a child has the right to be annoyed if he was actually promised McDonalds.

Update 3 – 1616

Latin World:
Portuguese Naval Advancement! While the Spanish have discovered a way to put more cannons on a ship, the Portuguese have discovered a way to more effectively use them. The Portuguese have developed a tactic known to English naval officers as a “broadside.” While most cannons have been located on the long sides of the ships, until now they have been fired sporadically and more or less at each cannons pace. Portugal has trained its crews to be capable of firing all cannons at a single time, hoping to rain utter devastation to an opposing force. To adopt this practice would require other navies to retrain their crews as well.
(Portugal: +1 naval quality)

Milan’s Army Reform! Milan has finished a system of army reforms which they have been working on for several years. The result has been an increased size and better educated officer corps, along with basic drilling for the soldiery and more standardized units. The result has been Milan’s army can finally be considered to be on par with most militaries on the European continent including the Ottomans, Poland, and Austria.

James’ War Ends! The War between King James of England and King James of Scotland has come to an end. The Scottish king has agreed to abdicate his throne in favor of his son Robert IV. In addition Scotland has been forced to abandon its long time alliance with France in favor for one with England. The English, whose intended goal was never the outright conquest of the Scots, have declared victory in the war and James I maneuver has earned the country recognition in the diplomatic circles. Meanwhile Robert IV has inherited an image of a weak and subservient Scotland.
(England: +2 prestige, Scotland: -1 prestige, -1 stability)

Order of Jesuits! The Papal State has finished funding the expansion of the order of Jesuits across the European continent. The main efforts of the Jesuits continue to be the increase of Catholic education to aid in the fight against Protestantism. While the current Protestants remain unswayed, the Jesuits hope to contain the future spread of heresy. The Pope’s actions have allowed the Catholic world to finally herald a Pope for his piety.
(Papal States: +1 prestige)

Polish War of Aggression Ends! Poland has secured peace with the German powers after last years victories in Bohemia. The result has been the complete annexation of Hungary. The removal of German forces from Bremen and surrounding provinces has allowed Poland to reclaim control of the important trade center. With the war to the west behind them Poland seems to be engaging in commercial development.
(Poland: +2 ep)

Holy Roman Empire News! Baden and Trier gains manpower. Holland and Münster gains prestige. Another new count in Oldenburg. Peasant revolt in Wurzburg.

WARS:
Breton War in Brittany! In Brittany the French have decided not to make a costly move on Nantes, seeking instead to simply siege the defenses combined now with a complete blockade of the city. The Breton navy bloodied after last year has failed to move en masse against the French. To the north the French have focused on trying to gain control of the countryside. They have met the Breton army twice in battle, both near Rennes. The French were successful in defeating the Bretons in the first battle, moving next to surround the city. However as the Bretons mustered additional troops they successfully defeated the French in a minor battle, ensuring Rennes remain connected to Brest. The war has had a pronounced effect on the Breton economy with the capture of large portions of land and the French blockade.
(Brittany: -7 Infantry Regiments, -1 Cavalry Regiment, -2 ep
France: -8 Infantry Regiments)

Breton War in Austrian Netherlands! In the Austrian Netherlands the French continued to squeeze allied forces early in the year, but by May a major Austrian army has arrived, linking up with Lorraine and Palatinate. Combined the force matched the French force assembled against them. Several inconclusive minor battles followed until early August when French and allied forces met at the Battle of Liege. Nearly the entirety of both armies was involved in the fight, about 70,000 men on each side. The Austrians were committed to resolving the battle via tercio, but the French opted to stall the Austrians and flank the Austrian army with their cavalry. Allied cavalry attempted to stop the flank, but was crushed. The Austrian tercios were now caught between a full advance of French tercios and possibility of being attacked from behind. The Austrians opted to begin the retreat protected somewhat by artillery. French cavalry would continue to harass until they were beyond infantry support. The battle has been a crushing blow to allied hopes, but the allied army has remained mostly intact. The strategic result has been the loss of Luxembourg to French forces.
(France: -14 Infantry Regiments, -5 Cavalry Regiments
Austria: -5 Infantry Regiments, -3 Cavalry Regiments
Lorraine: -5 Infantry Regiments, -1 Cavalry Regiment
The Palatinate: -6 Infantry Regiments, -2 Cavalry Regiment)

French War of Religion! The French began the season by marching on Avignon, still seen as the major cause of trouble in France. The forces of Avignon attempted to hold out behind their city fortress, but the French would have none of it. With artillery and manpower the French assaulted the city, bringing its capture after only several weeks of assault. The fall of Avignon has done little to stop the spread of France’s religious troubles which has begun to include Huguenot Calvinists. This is due mainly to the fact that France has made a deal with Spain to put down France’s own rebellion. As Spanish forces marched into France, the Protestants cried fowl across France. They have begun to fear an international Catholic conspiracy to stamp out Protestantism everywhere. While once again most of the country remains loyal, the Huguenots in Girona have risen up fearing the return of rule to Spain and the inquisition. The Spanish still outnumbered the French rebels, but with the addition of these forces Spain was driven back from securing the land. Continued success of these rebels may give hope to others to follow their path.
(Avignon: -5 Infantry Regiments, -2 ep
France: -6 Infantry Regiments
Spain: -3 Infantry Regiments, -1 Cavalry Regiment
Rebels: -4 Infantry Regiments)

Irish War! On the island of Ireland the self proclaimed king of the isle has assembled the kings of Leinster and Munster against Tyrone and Connacht. Connacht’s army has crumbled to the allied forces, being forced into the bulwarks of the capital of Galway. To the north Tyrone has faced much better, seeing only the self-proclaimed king of Ireland’s forces. Still he has been out maneuvered by cavalry, and out ranged by artillery as Tyrone loses most of its countryside. At sea the fleet of Tyrone successfully linked up with the fleet of Connacht. The fleets of Leinster and Munster met those of Tyrone and Connacht off the coast of Galway. Here the two fleets were of relatively equal size with one extra carrack on the side of Munster. It would appear this is all what was needed to ensure victory. With the fleet of Connacht at the bottom of the sea, Galway has become blockaded and the city is soon to fall in the coming months barring intervention.
(Leinster: -1 Infantry Regiment, -2 barque
Munster: -1 Infantry Regiment, -1 barques
Tyrone: -1 Infantry Regiment, -1 barque, -1 carrack
Connacht: -2 Infantry Regiments, -1 flyte, -1 barque)

Colonial News:

New Dansk! Danish explorers have discovered a new continent to the south-east of the East Indies which they have named New Dansk. While the explorers have claimed the lands for Denmark, it is simply too far away at this time for them to reach without relying on the Portuguese port in Sumatra.

Hudson Expands! England has expanded their Hudson Bay colony further inland, coming across incredibly large bodies of water. Explorers believe they may have found the Pacific Ocean and have petitioned the king to construct some ships and continue on to Asia.

Scotland Fleet Off Mali! Robert IV, in an attempt to regain a sense of Scottish pride, has constructed a new fleet which sent sail to Mali. The African nation was somewhat surprised to see armed ships enter its ports, but the Scots have won over the locals with promises of pure trade. While Mali has become increasingly surrounded by European influence they had refused to open ports until this incident. As a result Scotland has secured a lucrative trade with Mali.
(Scotland: +1 ep)

Portugal Expands East Indies! Portugal has expanded its control over the East Indies by gaining influence over the port of Jakarta on the island of Java. Portugal has renamed their “Asian” colony into “East Indies” to reflect the level of control they now have in the region.

Spain’s Colonial Ambitions! Spain has continued to expand both north of New Spain, and along the African coast south of Kongo. In both cases the Spanish have begun to run into increasingly hostile natives who may overrun local missions. However both expansions have been marginalized by Spain’s ambitious project to remove the Inca Empire from the map.

Breton-French Colonial War! French forces have finished their conquest of Brittany’s colonies this year. The governor of New Brittany surrendered after losing a minor battle. In Brasil the Breton forces while outnumbered refused surrender and put up a much larger fight. The result was heavy French casualties, but the colony has been pacified.
(France: -1 Henriana Metropole Regiment)

Eastern World:
Crimean Revolt Ends! The Emir of Crimea has successfully negotiated with the Cossacks for them to stand down. In return for military service against the Russians the Cossacks will continue to be free as they wish to be. This has put a complete end to the Domestic Development project the Emir had initiated the other year.

WARS:
Russian Rule Ends in Norway! Swedish and Danish forces have finished off the last of Russian forces in Norway this year. As the czar’s attention has been transfixed with an increasingly large crisis the Norweigan front has been completely abandoned. The few supplies that did arrive were scant enough to support the remaining forces. When Swedish and Danish forces began bombarding Bergen from afar with artillery the Russian forces knew they would not last. The local commander opted to surrender rather than face annihilation. Still there was a cost as the terrain took a toll on Swedish cannonry, much of which didn’t survive the simple journey.
(Russia: -all forces in Norway’
Sweden: -1 artillery regiment)

Russo-Ottoman War! Russia had good news early in the year as Crimea pledged to aid the besieged state against the Ottomans and secure their independence. Working to cut off Ottoman supply lines a Russian army was sent into Crimea to aid in conquering Azov. Deep within Crimean territory the Russians began to wait for the Ottomans near an important crossroads. When the Ottoman army arrived it was a sight to behold, over 90,000 strong. The Russians and their Crimean allies themselves only had not even half that. As the Russians attempted a retreat, the Crimeans sprung into action striking the Russian army from the rear. In the panic the Ottoman cavalry quickly moved up to aid the Crimeans as the main force soon arrived. The Russians disorganized and outnumbered either were slaughtered or surrendered. Within an hour roughly a fifth of the entire Russian Army was lost. Farther to the west another Russian army had been advancing along the Polish border, but retreated upon word of the catastrophe. To the east Russian forces advancing against Kazan met strong Ottoman resistance and was forced to retreat as well. The only Russian victory was when a small Crimean army attempted to march on Moscow and was defeated by Russia’s reserve forces.
(Russia: -21 Infantry Regiments, -10 Cavalry Regiments, -3 Artillery Regiments
Crimea: -3 Infantry Regiments, -2 Cavalry Regiments
Ottomans: -4 Infantry Regiments, -1 Cavalry Regiment)

Russo-Polish War! With Russia looking elsewhere Poland has decided this is the time to strike. Aware of Poland’s ambitions the Russians struck first, overrunning Polish Prussia. However the Poles sent the majority of their army against the Russian, outnumbering the Russians 2-1. The Russians were forced into several retreating battles into Lithuania. It is believed the presence of the Russian army is all that is keeping Lithuania from rebelling and after the Crimean debacle no Russian general is willing to trust Lithuania in aiding in battle. The only good news for Russia is that with the country seemingly under siege the nobility has decided to completely back the Czar.
(Russia: -4 Infantry Regiments, -2 Cavalry Regiments, +2 stability
Poland: -3 Infantry Regiments, -1 Cavalry Regiment)

Colonial News:
Tomsk Sold! In order to help fund the war effort the Russians have sold the colony of Tomsk to the Ming Empire. While also expecting the Ming to send an army to aid them, only a small token force was sent to do nothing. The Russians shouldn’t expect much from these oriental heathens.

Muslim World:
Noble Revolt in Algiers! A noble revolt occurred this year in Algiers, upset over Ottoman suzerainty. Emir al-Hasan has acted like a good puppet and has put down the revolt in the most brutal ways possible. Although the situation is resolved it has done little to aid the stability in the country which continues to plummet.
(Algiers: -1 stability; -1 Infantry regiment)

WARS:
War in East Africa! Khorasan’s forces in Tanzania has finally begun moving north against the Swahili. As a result has been Swahili’s army – which was looking to destroy Khorasan’s Horn army – being forced to split against the threat. To the south the Swahili army has matched Khorasan’s and forced them to halt their advance. But to the north the additional of tercio-like tactics have allowed Khorasan to destroy Swahili on open battle. The result is Swahili’s first major defeats since the start of the war.
(Khorasan: -2 Native Musket Regiments
Swahili: -4 Native Infantry Regiments)

Chinese World:
Japan Finishes Open Ports! Japan has finished its open ports project which sought to increase the capacity of the country’s ports. The result has been increased trade with the rest of East Asia.
(Japan: +1 ep)

China Technologically Advances! The Ming Empire has sought the advice of military advisors from the far west. These advisors have completely revamped the Chinese military system. However traditional Chinese generals have petitioned against these changes saying the western barbarians know not how to properly conduct war. The traditional techniques are, after all, responsible for extending the Chinese empire to heights surpassed only by the Mongols. This has put the empire on the verge of civil war.
(Ming: -2 stability)

Ayutthaya Technologically Advances! To the south of China the empire of Ayutthaya has adopted ship building techniques from the Portuguese. The Portuguese navy had in the past couple decades obliterated the Ayutthaya forcing them to cede a portion of Sumatra. The introduction of this technology has angered Ayutthaya traditionalists, but its effects are far less than in China.

WARS:
Japan Annexes Makassar! Much like the Japanese conquest of sulu last year the Japanese arrived in Makassar with overwhelming force. The local king was forced to cede his country after losing a major battle outside the capital. Borneo has remained quiet as Japan has sent a lucrative bribe for them to do so.
(Japan: -2 native musket regiment, +1 prestige, +1 ep)

African World:
WARS:
Ottomans in Ethiopia! The war in Ethiopia has continued in stalemate this year, though it has been much bloodier. To the north Ottoman attempts on the Ethiopian capital have once again been repulsed by staunch Ethiopian defenses. To the south Ethiopian attempts to capture Adal’s capital has been met with similar failure.
(Ethiopia: -3 Native Infantry Regiments
Adal: -2 Native Infantry Regiments
Ottomans: -1 Infantry Regiment)

New World:
WARS:
Spain Invades Incan Empire! Spain has sailed over a relatively large army to work on conquering the Incan Empire. As 13,000 men marched south from Colombia, 6,000 marched up from Atacama. But facing this army was 26,000 Incan Warriors prepared to defend against the invaders. Having long known of the fall of the Aztecs and Mayans the Incas prepared for such contingencies. Still the Spanish have proved to be powerful foes. To the north the Incas have been routed from a portion of the coastline, though the vast hinterlands remain safe. To the south the Spanish found their position undefendable. The desert geography ruined logistical capacities, and when the Incan army twice its size showed up they showed no mercy to the foreigners. Atacama has completely fallen to Incan forces, though not without a fight.
(Spain: -4 Infantry Regiments, -4 Cavalry Regiments
Inca: -9 Native Infantry Regiments)

Diplo:
To Japan
From Borneo:
We are impressed and would like to join your alliance system.

Ooc: Kiev is actually somewhere around the Polish region in Ukraine, maybe inside it I’d have to look in the game file.

The update seems to have come on time and I withdraw my criticism accordingly, but one question. I ordered an invasion of Dai Viet and the colonisation of an additional province. What prevented these things happening?

EDIT:

Bahahhahaha! That's hilarious!

So you advocate people being allowed to break promises without good reason? There could be expectations, but a right to annoyance is the default.

The internal instability of your country has prevented these events.

The internal instability of your country has prevented these events.

Sorry to be annoying, but how could they? Countries with low Stability can go to war (if with possibly serious consequences at home), and normally can colonise regions anyway.
