I currently have Blue Marble installed. I expected the game to complain about game assets, and me having to reinstall civ (or install it in a different place), but no such thing happened.

Is it alright if I play with Blue Marble on?

I believe Blue Marble is a graphics only mod - it doesn't modify any of the files that actually impact gameplay, and for that reason it's compatible with the HOF mod.

If you'd installed a mod that affected the game in some material way, then the HOF mod would (rightly) complain about modified assets and refuse to load.

Excellent. And while I'm here asking questions, I kind of remember there being savegames required at certain points. Is this true, or do we need only the final savegame file?

Also, thanks for the quick reply. :)

You only need submit the final save. It is recommended that you keep saves from around 2000 BC, 1000 BC, 10 AD and 1000 AD.

Also, please check your .ini file to ensure that your auto save interval is set to 1. This makes an autosave every turn, in case you might experience a crash and have to reload from autosave. Should this happen, please PM a staff member so we can check this against the HoF Mod data when we calculate results.

Good Luck!

EDIT - should have given you a link to all this info. You can find it by clicking here.

BUG and BAT would be nice. I never play HOF or any of the other game variants that go on through civfanatics, simply because they don't allow BUG & BAT.

IMHO, CIV4 is at it's best with the official & unofficial patches, + Blue Marble + BUG + BAT.

No other way I want to play it really. It would just feel like I was missing out on something...
