We can now sign a military alliance with the Iroquois for the grand total price of... NOTHING! That is if we renegotiate peace with them. Along with a MA against the Babs and Romans they will also give us 26g, ROP (which we are definitely not getting), and both maps. It also improves relations from annoyed to polite

Without renegotiating peace the Iroquois would surely sign a MA against Rome but against Babylon is another thing. We could get a double MA, but we'd have to pay 42g OR sign a ROP. A single MA against just Babylon would cost us silks. I won't even put single MA up as it would just cost us too much.

So to sum it up:

Military Alliance with Iroquois vs Rome and Babylon

Option 1
Renegotiate peace
Both MAs
Get 26g
Get Both maps
Improve Relations
Option 2
Both MAs
ROP w/ both maps or
42g

Whatever we decide we must act NOW before Rome or Babylon secures more allies.

I would like to see alliances against both, or actually against one.

If we can get more money out of an alliance against just one nation, then go for it as Rome and Babylon will most likely sign an alliance against Iriquois if we bring them in.

That alliance will hamper us more than it will gain us. We shouldn't want to fight right now, so a short war is in our interests. A 20 turn MA therefore is not.

Also: if it does works and we see little fighting ourselves chances are that Iroquois will loose some or all cities. Meaning a stronger Babylon and Rome. And if they are destroyed we get a rep-hit for breaking a 20-turn deal.
OTOH if the Iro's are winning the Roman-Babylonian war, they will get stronger and that is also not what we want. We want as many weak nations around us as possible. This MA does the opposite.

Vote NO ALLIANCE !!

Singular alliances aren't worth it. We can't get anything of value and would have to pay silks.

I definately agree with RM. We should lay low and finish this war as soon as possible.

Whether or not we want alliances, renegotiating peace with the Iroquois would still be a good idea. It would give us a 20 turn deal with them that they would have to break to declare on us, without locking us into a 20 turn war. My first thought was to go for option 1, but I may well vote renegotiate peace without the alliances.

No, I'd prefer not to be locked in a 20 turn death sentence.

I'd prefer to continue this war until we take Babilonian outer cities (like Wine city) and at least 2-3 Roman core cities.
Possibility that we will be weaker side in the war is very low. If we include Iroquin in the war than we'll have much better chances for quicker victory.
