Almost Newbie proposes PTW PBEM Alpha

I now have Outlook reinstalled, and the pop3 downloads seem fine.

Our elite knights congregate off the coast of India, with a small amount of logistical support.

Our destroyer finally overtakes the fleeing pirates and sails on south.

Given the accompanying danger of unexpected disappearances,
we launch a couple more battleships to defend our eastern coasts.

We feel thoroughly modern, listening to K-R-U-D radio.

We declare war on India, and rattle a shore based cavalry with a few salvoes.

A company of men land on East India, block off a land bridge, and turn our attention to the ivory strewn capital.
A few elite knights, keen on advancement, backed by a few other resources.

Our military advisers inform us that the once mighty Persians have fallen behind.

It's pile on India time. Mongol hordes invade India and capture New Lahore, New Delhi and New Kolhapur.

A disastrous round.

We gain two cities, but lose a tank and several cavalry after a completely ineffectual artillery barrage.

No MGL from our knights, and our Forbidden Palace is still 70 turns away. :(

Indian cities are in resistance and deeply unhappy,
so the saving graces of harbours and airports are several turns away,
.. if they don't flip in the meantime.

Edit: Sent in error to Garsonga...now corrected.

Mongol forces continue their advance into Indian territory. They meet heavy resistance but manage to capture the Indian cities of Chittagong and Ganges.

One more city falls to us, with minor loss.
We build an airport on Indian soil, for happiness and reinforcement, but cultural pressure is blocking our advance.

It is obviously going to be quite a while before we confront Persia on their home continent.

A transport load of tanks is shortly to arrive.
Our cash takes a big dip as all wealth creating cities are switched to Tank production.

Mongol forces consolidate their gains and redeploy in preparation for their next assault on the Indians.

Mongol forces launch another offensive against the Indians. The Indian cities of Pune, Lahore, Jaipur, Bangalore and Karachi are captured and occupied.

Mongol forces capture Indus and recapture New Delhi after it does a cultural flip.

Jumped on the pound India bandwagon, took rogue city of New Bombay and destroyed the renegades at New Madras. Our continent is now cleansed of the India scourge.

Garsonga

The English were bitterly regretting the chance influence that Lahore originally exerted to delay our advance down the peninsula of initial attack.

This delay cost us Bangalore and Lahore, and with it a clear sweep across the grasslands to Persia.

However, as the dust settles, we see a clear railroaded path between the new Mongol cities leading to our destiny. :D

Unfortunately, not until after we misdirected a dozen tanks up into some mountains :gripe:

We airlift another 4 tanks in to join the fun

We had to retake another Indian city that did a cultural flip. Starting work on incorporating our gains into the Mongol nation.

pinging for a re-send, gmail strikes again...

Wow, a two city, 3 pop civ retains enough culture for this....

We take the penultimate Indian city, and find ourselves surrounded by Persian and Mongolian cavalry.

More airlifts, more airports to be built soon, more tanks to use them.

@Garsonga,
Thanks for the resend.
I actually played the first save you sent...
...which turned up 15 hours after you sent it.

The Indians still seem to be alive somewhere but as far as the Mongols are concerned the war is over. We turn our attention to more peaceful pursuits.

The English are flushed with recent success,
although the glow has a strange greenish tinge to it.

India is down to a single city, on the coast of the Persian mainland.
It obviously is not worth taking, if Persia has yet to do this.
