I would like to see a very well done Panzer General IV, based on the Total War style. The Panzer General series was engaging and exciting, but it lacked the strategic scope it sorely needed. If a new game came out that had the type of world decisions you find in the Total War series and then moved to the tactical style Pazner General III had, it would be a phenomenal game.

ARE there any MOO 3 fans? I've never heard a good word about it, so I didn't even buy it, though I liked MOO 2..

I loved MOO 2, but I didn't buy MOO 3 because I had no money when it came out, and I couldn't even find it in any stores around release time. Then, when I did have money I had already read reviews about how it stunk and decided not to buy it. I did vote for it though, because I would love another MOO game that is a good game, unlike the apparent muck that was Master of Orion 3.

I'd like to have MOO4... implemented as a Civ4 mod.

If you could do a civ4 mod deserving to be named MOO4 then the civ4 moddability is very good, indeed, and as a bonus you'd get MOO4 which is good, too. :)

Colonization, no Question. I enjoyed Colonization much more than Civ I (which I loved), and almost as much as I enjoyed Civ II.

Of course, it is the only one of the four games mentioned I have ever played.

MoM 2 definitely. I just love MoM. I understand Stardock has the rights for it and are planning to do a remake, but they are doing GalCiv 2 first so the project is on ice. My information is a bit dated, though. SMAC 2 would also be lovely, I like the original a lot.

MOO 4 would be nice eventually, but better leave that franchise alone for a while. MOO 3 tried to be innovative, but failed on implementation big time. Somehow I like MoM better than the MOO series anyways. Haven't played Colonization, so I can't really comment on that.

Neither, apparently Firaxis holds the rights to the UFO / XCOM series. I would just love to see a sequel in that.

Definitely Colonization!

The gameplay was stellar. It is actually still enjoyable to play. With the new graphics...:D I would pre-order right now if they got it underway. With the success of Pirates and now CIV IV (not to mention that it would directly compete with Age of Empires III and cream it), a reprise of Colonization would be perfect.

Also, a Colonization expansion might work, but it would have to completely rework the game, basically only the graphics would remain.

The problem with MOO 3 was that they added the indirect control of a real ruler without taking out the frustration of micromanagement. In short, worst of both worlds. Cool idea, but they didn't go as far as they needed to go to make it work.

I voted for MOO4, but I'd be satisfied with MOO2 that network-multiplayed sufficiently (the PC version crashed every 5 minutes; the Mac version was pretty stable, but "nobody" has a Mac)

My vote is still SMAC 2, SMAC was great. However, I just played Colonization for the first time today. I kinda lived under a rock as a kid. A friend of mine gave me his game when he heard I had never played it. It was made in 1993, it installs on 3 3.5" floppies, and was originally designed to work on MS DOS 5.0, and it runs perfect on my WinXP!!! Can you believe that? This computer will run cIV no problem and Colonization runs right off! By the way, it really is a great game too so bring me Colonization II!

Sid Meier owns the rights to X-Com, he should get cracking on that before anything else!

So, how long do you think it will be before the first civ4 'space' mod comes out?

Just change the units and move the tech tree forward to SMAC times and there is great potential for a basically new game. We can all pretend it's SMAC 2 or MOO4 while we await the real thing (hopefully!). :)

One of the best turn based games ever was Warlords 2. Not in the same league as CIV since no tech tree, but damn good fun. Id like to see a new version. We've had Warlords 3 & 4 but neither managed to capture the magic of W2.

How so? It's nothing like what CIV4 looks like.

Well, really both are too similar:
- A planet-map to explore (earth-like or mars-like makes no difference).
- Technology tree to discover and to produce units
- The new diplomacy model in Civ IV is like the former model in Alpha Centauri

In contrast (although they also are similar):
-Colonization introduces the "item trade" thing, making it similar to Patrician III
-MOO uses a stellar map, changing completely the strategy
-MOM uses spells...

Is it just me or isn't it "civilization 4 - SMAC expansion pack".
I mean, it takes on where Civ4 ends ?
With the modability it is fully possible to make it ?
In fact, your civ4 ending should affect your start in the SMAC expansion, talk about EPIC gameplay =)

I disagree -- SMAC was an entirely different game than Civ III, I see no reason why it wouldn't be an entirely different game than Civ IV. Of course they look the same, but they operate very differently, have very different graphics, have very different lore and GUI, and SMAC had an actual storyline going on in the background for each faction.

didn't like alpha centauri that much, once i realized i couldn't make the healing paradroping APC design to work. also felt it was just a weaker civ clone

colonization was the first game that really addicted me. would love to see a sequel with current graphics, but the time period limits how much could be added to it

master of magic badly needs a sequel. the game was a masterpiece. and i don't really mind that it was not balanced, that made it more exciting. i've played all 4 original games in the poll, and master of magic was the best - even better than civ 1. if you've never played it, you can find it on one of those abandonware sites. too bad an old system with high DOS compatibility is usually needed to play it properly

MOO 1 and 2 were excellent, but MOO 3 was, to put it elegantly, a piece of droppings. it left a bad taste in my mouth, and i'm no longer eager to see MOO 4

another TBS that deserves a sequel is Xcom. forget the crappy FPS spinoffs, a true Xcom 4 would be sweet
