It should upgrade to commando. Not the best choice perhaps... Anyway, the upgrade path was not correct.

You have to find the tech that disable the "Bush" government, it will enable the "Kyoto treaty" small wonder.

I guess that the civpedia would tell you the Duck is a naval biplane that can base in carrier, but the SE5 is a land biplane that cannot do so;

Not much I can do there, except make the submarine hidden nationality, but I'm afraid it may unbalance the game.

Not a naval plane. It has a load capacity of one, and can carry foot unit with a range of 9.
Use it as you would use the helicopter in vanilla to drop strong infantry unit behiind ennemy lines.

Strange... My ini file for the US M4 Calliope doesn't use a Rocket.flc, but a RocketAttack.flc. Could you check that?

Normal, you need a naval fighter. Try the F2A Buffalo. Or better the F4U Corsair later.

I don't want you to send a pack of destroyer, come close to a BB, bombard, withdraw, without any risk. If you want to attack a battleship, attack, don't bombard! And I consider a destroyer has not enough firepower to make a land bombardment.
However, they can spot submarines :).

Yes, they are supposed to be used in protection of the fleet, risking damaging the incoming ships, and suprise them with their invisibility.

Are you using the latest patches? Britain should have Br_06I # Pikes. The 6I - Pikes (UK) is not supposed to exist.

Yes, the US have a bonus naval bomber. The only civ with one so far.

Needs rubber, which is not really late in the tech tree, but in a parallel branch
You can get it has the 3rd tech of the last era.
Obviously, you selected another branch first, and so have only access to weaker units.
I don't know if it should be correced.

This is an older game, missing the latest patches. I wanted to play to the late age for the Americans.

I thought I had every patch and expansion for Civ 3 installed. I just looked here:

An important question. Beside the bugs and errors.

How do you find the modern era? Is it fun? Do you like having a selection of several types of aircrafts and ships?
Seeing the vast plethora of tanks, metal warships, and planes seems extremely weird. It's kind of neat, but if I was seriously playing, I wouldn't build 90% of the units.

It's a Torpedo bomber... No way to prevent it from bombing land tiles...
Consider it a "mole bomb" :).
I wish we could have different bombing rate and anim for land and sea...

82. The North Africans are having a lot of activity. They're in the process of moving a tremendous army from one chunk of their island to another. I have no idea what for. To kill barbarians? All this is after the turn where I gave them about another 10 technologies. I must have given them a total of 20 technologies by now.

83. By the way, I'm a Constitutional Monarchy, and my best 9 cities are producing these resources: 178, 177, 162, 142, 126, 99, 96, 96, 90. It's a Golden Age right now. Marseilles, the city with the highest resources, has 13 people. It's 2037 AD right now.

I noticed that the US_12C + M60 Patton MBT can't move easily in jungle, swamp, or forest. What a shame! It's almost inferior to earlier tanks because of that.

88. The US_12A + A10 Warthog bomber that the Americans have can perform a Rebase mission twice in one turn. I've never seen this before. And the Warthog looks completely awesome. Its range is incredibly short.

89. In the unit build list, the icon for US_12C + M60 Patton MBT has a purple line under it. Either that, or the US_12C + M113 has a purple line above it.

Do you have the small wonder that allows building armies (Military Academy)? Without it, you can't upgrade armies.

Exact, you need oil to produce paratrooper. Normally, you need 2 turns (cost of 130).

Some modern aircraft have blitz and two moves, allowing them to attack twice, or to rebase twice, or attack and then intercept...
The Warthog is a killer airplane (with lethal range bombardment!). However, it has a really short range to compensate.

Yes, it can attack, bombard and transport. The Apache is stronger, but can't transport unit.
What's a bombardment animation flag?
 
About your war: North Africa is not the best choise for modern war, they'll probably lack artillery and airplanes.

I suggest, if you start another game, to select one of the "finished" civ for you, and one as an opponent to test modern warfare.

Not in the current version, perhaps an error in your version I corrected later in a patch?

I've checked, they are all wheeled in my version. Aren't they wheeled in yours?

Quick update before I leave for one week for Norway: I have added the Russian air force, and update some American planes with Wyrmshadow's new graphics (F16, F22, B2). I have also added a F-106 between the F-86 and the F-15.
 
Shouldn't modern tanks be able to deal with swamps and forests? The treads are intended to be more all-terrain than wheels. There are swamps next to the highway when I drive to work and those have fairly shallow little rivers. A tank could easily drive through it. And a tank could easily drive through a sparse forest.
 
Pitty we don´t have sparse forrest and dense heavy forrest, like in south germany, northern scandinavia. Then we could have dense impassable by wheeled units and still a fairly nice looking map.
