Governor General announces Progressive Liberal Coalition Governmemt!
The Governor General has done the unexpected today. John Baron Tweedsmuir has announced, after 2 days of uncertainty, and high-level meetings between the Leaders of the Majority Parties and the Governor General, that Canada will not be having a new election, and that the Progressives and the Liberals will be given a shot at forming the Government. This is unprecedended in Canadian History, but, then again, nobody expected Mosely to become King, either. Several announcements were made today, by the new Prime Minister, Jacques LaPierre, the Governor General, and the Commander of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Governor General John Baron Tweedsmuir: "I have decided that the best coruse of action for Canada is to allow the Progressive and the Liberal parties to try and form a coalition Government. This is a very trying time for the country, war might be on the horizon, and I feel that elections would not be the solution. Mr. LaPierre of the Progressive Party and the Liberal Party have demonstrated that they are capable of forming the Government, so I have chosen to allow them to do so. I also wish to make it perfectly clear that I will sign into Law an Amendment to the Constitution of Canada which will see the Monarchy of the United Kingdom not have any more authority or power, however ceremonial that might be, over Canada. I realize that it will mean the termination of my popisition, but it is a small sacrifice to make for the longer-term goal of what Canadians want. I, as a proud Canadian, will abide by the decisions of the people. God bless Canada"
Progressive Prime Minister Jacques LaPierre: "I wish to first of all congratulate and thank His Excellency the Governor General for agreeing to not call elections, and to allow my party, the Progressive Party, and the Liberal Party to be the Coalition Government of Canada. This is a very trying time in Canadian history, and I will guide Canada through. We have seen events of monumental significance in the United Kingdom, with their Fascist leader crushing rebels in Newfoundland and crushing the Irish Government with a power never seen before. Their leader, King and Prime Minister Oswald Mosely, has shown hisx true tyrannism. Canada tried to be friendly with the United Kingdom. We tried to work with them. But they persisted on forcing us to remain a part of the British Empire. They wish, let's be frank, to see Canada return to the days of the British Empire.
I wish for one thing to be made clear - This crisis is of the UK's making. Canada was a happy nation, with the Monarch of the UK as our Ceremonial head of State. We are proud of our British Heritage. But we cannot accept Mosely as our King. He is not truly a Monarch, he only got there because he bent and broke and changed the rules. I still have respect for our heritage, as do most Canadians. But we do not have respect for that Fascist Regime.
I say no. Canadians oppose Mr. Mosely becoming King. Canadians are not Fascists, and we will never bow down to a Fascist King. Canaduians have demonstrated that they want freedom, and Independence. I will seek that. The Progressive and Liberal parties of Canada will see the full Independence of Canada. The United Kingdom has threatened war. They thraeten to attack us, and make us their colony. I promise you that will not happen. I encourage every signle patriotic Canadian to stand up for our rights to be a free and independent people. I hope war can be adverted, but, at the same time, we must be ready to fight the Fascist Imperialist Pigs! We will resist them, we will make Canada a living hell for their Boys in Red if they come! I promise you, Canada will never, ever again be a colony of the UK. I will be introducing motions in the House of Commons to initiate the alteration of our Constitution to declare Canada a totally free and indepoendent nation, with no ceremonial monarchy. These are the wishes of Canada. Thank you."
Commander of the Canadian Armed Forces, John Ibbitson: "With the hostilities between the United Kingdom and Canada growing to a fever pitch, and with the threat of war regarded as "imminent" from the United Kingdom Amred Forces, I am ordering the Canadian Armed Forces to be at its High Alert Level, DefCon 1. This means that we feel that the possiblity of invasion or an armed assault on Canada to be imminent. We must ask our ATO allies to be prepared to send forces to defend Canada against the United Kingdom under the directives established in Resolution 1.
Furthermore, I am asking all Canadians to take up arms against the UK Forces, if such a need should arise. We will not be drafting soldiers at this time, we are asking for the Canadian Volunteer Regiments to be formed. All Canadians whio wish to join up are asked to go to their local Canadian Amred Forces Regiment immediately, or their local police station. There, you will be directed to get emergency training measures. All of Canada's Reserves have been called up. All military equipment that we have is ready to fight. We are producing more weapons as we speak.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Canadian Armed Forces are ready for war, if the United Kingdom should attack. I ask for all Canadians to please follow our instructions, and all civilians to stay inside, and follow the directions coming over the radio. Also, do not be alarmed if you see Tanks or Soldiers out in force. We are here to protect the Canadian people. Thank you."
CANADA DECLARES TOTAL INDEPENDENCE!
And so it happened, and with amazing speed. 1 day after becoming Prime Minister, Jazques LaPierre introduced measures to amend the Canadian Constitution to make Canada a fully independent nation. It passed the Canadian Parliament by a vote of 286 to 5, with several abstaining in the Conservative Party. After that, it was signed by all the Premiers, and then signed into the Canadian Constitution by the Governor General. There was some tension at the last minute with a rumour that Tweedsmuir would not sign away his position, but he did. This has been a very historic time in Canadian History. For the first time ever, Canada is totally Independent. All links with the UK, ceremonial links that is, have been erased.
Canadians came out into the streets applauding the Government, and denouncing Mosely and the UK. Several effigies of Mosely were burned, and some British Flags. But now the attention turns to the UK. Will they attack as they promised? The Canadian military is at its highest alert, about half of the air force is deployed, watching for British Bombers, and most of the Navy is watching for British Ships. In Quebec, about half of the Army has been deployed, watching for an invasion of Quebec. Canadians are Volunteering by the Hundreds of Thousands, apparently believing a war is coming. The Government is not drafting troops, yet. Canada might soon be at war with its ex-Mother Nation, the UK, and Canadians are eagerly getting ready. Factories are working day and night producing more tanks ships and planes, as well as guns and ammunition. The country is preparing for war, but will Canada win? And will ATO come to Canada's aid? For that matter, with the UK actrually invade?
Stay tuned to find out.
To the United Kingdom,
From Canada,
If you invade Canada, we promise to see every single one of your troops that you land on Canadian soil sent home in a body-bag. Canada is a free and Independent nation, and only an act of God can change that. If you try to change our destiny, I promise Hell for your forces. We are Independent, we are United, and we are prepared to fight you, if you choose to invade. It is your choice.
Yours,
Jacques LaPierre,
Prime Minister of Canada.
To all other Nations of the World,
From Canada,
I would like for it to be known, for the record, that if the UK invades Canada, they are invading a Free, Independent, and Democratic nation. Canada will fight for our Independence. We ask for no nation to interfere on the side of the British Fascists Imperialists.
Yours Truly,
Jacques LaPierre,
Prime Minister of Canada.
