Alternative names for existing civs

Hi there folks - my first post and I hope I've got it in the right forum...

I know it's stupid but it really annoys me when I encounter Washington in 3000BC, find a nation of landlocked Greeks, or discover that Leicester is the capital of the civilised world.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a mod that just altered the names of the original civs (and their cities, leaders and great people etc). I've looked through the forums but haven't found anything as yet.

I intend to play the Fall from Heaven fantasy mod which looks amazing, but wondered if there was something which would let me play the standard game with fantasy (or any alternative) names.

As yet there are no mods that I know of that deal specificly with the basic civs. Most ppl (unless they need to) leave those ones alone and write their own additions into the game.

the Fall from Heaven is definatly different... have to give him credit though he put alot of work into that mod

Hmmm well maybe I should have a go at re-naming them myself.

I assume it's not that hard. Might be a good first modding project for me!

you could... its really not that hard... XML doccuments can be opened in Notepad or any text editor

The only files you need to edit for civ names is XML\Text\_Civilopedia_CivLeaders and _Objects.
