Am I just ridiculously underpowered for Civ 5?

You've probably read this all before, but bear with me.

So, I know my laptop is not brand new, but it could handle the demo in DX9 no problem. Now it gets bogged down after about 100 turns (slow play during my turn). I can restart the laptop to get better performance for a while, but at about turn 200 things really slow down.

DX10/11 crashes to blue screen.

I am playing an 8 civ game on warlord/prince on a continents map.

And the stats:

Dell Studio XPS laptop
Intel Core Due 2.66 Ghz
4 gig ram
Windows 7
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670

I've played with drivers and whatnot. Am I just farked for Civ 5?

Thanks for any consideration.

I find there is an issue with the saving and loading in the game after awhile. Its a bug, because reinstalling the game removes the problem. I have a laptop with less power and if I play in "strategic mode" the game seems to run ok, mind you I have to keep it to small maps 6 players no city states. The game will take time to process turns like 10-15s in the later parts at least.

@Sleepysam: Your graphics card and (I think) CPU as well are a bit weak.

There's also lots of problems it seems with large maps especially late game, hopefully that will be patched soon.
