Hi, I'm back.
playing now
1800 AD - IHT. Switch some cities to Stock Exchanges and other more useful stuff, like wealth. We won't win with units; we'll need economical power now.
IBT: Death or the Roses flips to Egypt ...
[1] 1802 AD. I have a spare settler I want to use for lux-stealing; but there is no lux catchable yet.
[2] 1804 AD. Income is up again. Can't trade yet.
IBT: Egypt declares on the Americans. Our blockade is still effective.
Sutter's Mill Lib -> court
[3] 1806 AD. America lacks Oil. We need to change that soon. Send in a unit next to the only American city. There is a stack of 9 Egyptian MechInfs + 8 Egyptian tanks next to Atlanta. America seems toast. I'm positioning units so I can watch the coming Spectacle. I am considering giving America a city, as we still have a 12 turn and a 16 turn deal with them. I decide not to; it wouldn't suffice. They're on their own now. If they can beat the SoD they'll survive (maybe). If not, they'll be dead anyway. Bye bye rep ??
There's no use giving them Oil either; they have 0 gold. They can't upgrade.
IBT: The Americans use many many Infs and Cavs to attack injured, spread out Egyptian units. And now Egypt attacks and wins, destroying the Americas. I fear Egypt is very close to Domination now.
[4] 1808 AD. Cancel Saltpeter for Incense with Ottomans. Also cancel Rop. Resign Rop + Gems for Rop + Saltpeter. Cancel Rop with Egypt. Sign Rop for our WM + 60 gold. Switch Mecca, Basra and Merw to settler.
Found "Yankee's grave" in former American lands.
IBT: 3 settlers build. Flip back Damascus lib -> Cathedral
[5] 1810 AD. Found "Moreland", "Junglebook" and "Northern Outpost" in noman's land.
Egypt is blocking our South-Eastern lands form the Former Spain area.
IBT: Egypt frees the passage.
[6] 1812 AD. Occupying the Passage to keep our Empire connected. Found "Passage securer". Found "Take back the Roses"
I'm going to kill my ISP !! For the 5th time today and for the 10th time these few days my PC crashes and my modem can't connect to the ISP for over 2 hours. An infamous Win XP blue screen (which is far worse than a Win 98 blue screen. It usually signals a defect on some bit of hardware and I'm guessing it's my ADSL-modem

IBT: Ottomans want to talk: Do we want a MPP ? nope.

I apologise to my ISP; it wasn't their fault; it was my normal phone-modem (which I never use, but had connected to the phonelines) which was blocking the ADSL-line. Sorry ISP.
I didn't check the save, but here's my 2 cents on wealth. Why build anything else ? Units won't win us the game and we need a lot of cash and gpt for tech-purchases. Our only win-option is SpaceRace and the wealth helps to get the techs.

Egypt is some 200 tiles away from dom victory. we are 700 or so. Not too close. I bet we'll lose this by spaceship or an Egyptian assault. Hope the latter, a little warring would be fun.

They have MA's. They slice through half a dozen of older Ottoman units... but lose a few to tougher defenders in towns. They take Valencia which was defended only by a rifle and a guerrilla. Let's see how this goes...

Check to see how tight our blockade is and if something needs to be done.
Looks like it's fine, Valencia and Atlanta are in Egyptian hands on the Ottoman side of the blockade... let's see how the fight goes.

They retake Valencia and capture Atlanta.
Sounds like they nuked some other place too, bit the screen goes black when they do, so I don't know where they stroke.
