Thanks for the info, Blue Monkey! I've updated the diplomacy text with the Sarasvati replacing the Ganges. The Harappans are able to irrigate without access to fresh water from the start; their era one unique wonder is the Great Granary - which builds a granary in each city (believe it or not ;) ). I've used references to Vadavamukha as the holy entity - does that sound okay?

The BIQ I'm working on will be a random map one. So I've got 32 slots all mixed up at the moment; only 3 are bonus resources - but really, these three will be more than enough room for my extra "wants" - I thought I'd add an extra 2 bonus resources. So it'll be a mixture of luxuries and strategic resources in slots 1-31 and 5 bonus resources in slots 32-36. Does that sound okay?
If that causes any problems then I'll eat my hat. Well, I don't have a hat so I'll eat my hoodie. :)

I love the Harappan tweak! Makes it so much more enjoyable when the diplomacy text is changed to reflect the game.

The minimap guardian is great as well.

It all looks like it's coming along very nicely, and I'm happy to hear that you're set on 1500 as the end date. I'm a happy camper.

I'm sorry, Steve, but I must take you to task. The  Norse:eek: are now in there (they weren't going to be originally). I was thinking of you there ;) and you didn't even mention it :trouble: :sarcasm: !!

Glad to hear you're pleased with the progress though :) !

Do you plan to include any new unit in this release?
Probably not. It'd force the release date further back. What I'll be releasing is the demo/test version - which should be pretty much like the finished article - but we'll be discussing elements of the game, missing units, missing civs, updates to diplomacy/civilopedia/other text, etc in the thread that'll be created once the stuff's released.

Well, actually, thinking about it, I might be lying there. I could do with a Harappan worker to make that their UU.

I forgot to mention that I'm using some of embryodead's leaderheads - and one of Grandraem. Traditionally, I like to use just my own, but the quality of these was so good, I had to have them in. Up first are these two likely lads:

You just can't fault the artwork here. These are both superb - Lorenzo di Medici for the Florentine Republic and Brian Boru of Eire.

Then, there's Grandraem's african leaderhead:

This makes a far better Ezana of Axum in my opinion than the one I made. However, my final choice may come as a surprise:

she was intended to be an Amazon Queen; however, I like her better as Gladys of the Coritani than my own version. I've always liked this leaderhead and feel that it would suit a tribe like the Coritani - from a forested area, perhaps more likely to have red hair than blond to be honest.

*gasp* I always thaught that Glady's was one of the R8XFT leaderheads, tbh... Although I can't deny that that LH is a good one...

The first one does not come as a surprise, though XD (I knew that's one of the main reasons that you re-extended your mod to the year 1500AD). However, the others come as complete surprises! (Although positive ones ;))

...actually, he did a Harappan settler. I pm'd him yesterday to see if he's still got the Poser model and if so, if he'd be prepared to make some worker animations for it. We'll see ;) .

I was about to say: "EDIT: Settler... worker was just put into my head from reading your last post somehow!

OK, I'm glad you will release this faster, but I'm still sad Dacia is not in this version. :p Even Eire is there!
I'll prioritise Dacia for a near future inclusion, just for you ;) .

When I do, should Dacia be Euro style buildings - and units-wise, should they follow the generic Euro trend?

lol. :D

Well, they were mainly related to Thrace, and apparently from DNA tests and from their religion they were distantly related to the Vikings. So I'd put them in the same group in which you'd put Thrace if you'd have them in game. Euro should fit, IMO.

Vadavamukha is associated with the ocean and the images I've seen are much later than the Harappan culture. Pashupati (Lord of the Beasts) who is a proto-Shiva, is found on many Harappan seals.

As to names, no one has as yet translated the language on the Indus Valley seals. City names are just the names of modern villages near archaeological sites. Leader names, etc., could be pretty much anything that suits your fancy and sounds likely for a South Asian culture.

Well beat me over the head with a club and call me Sally! I'm happy to be thought of, even sarcastically. After all, as Oscar Wilde said, "the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."

I love the heads by embryodead. They're great and I can see why you'd break your rule to include them.

And pleased? Yeah, you've got me salivating. As we Minnesota Scandinavians say, "Uffda!"

This great-grandson of expatriate Norsemen thanks you.
