Anno Domini for Civ V

where did you find all the civilizations and pictures to base your leaderheads off of?
I've been doing it for years for Civ III, I can't really remember with a lot of them to be honest. Googled some; people have helped with images from Osprey books.

400MB????!??@????

Why so much? What does this add other than civs?

A size like that would indict art asset after art asset after art asset. :/

It's a complete conversion. The way I look at it is that I want to create this mod for my own enjoyment and will upload it in case anyone else would like to play it :). Whilst there are a lot of art assets (and a lot of new stuff people can use if they wish for their own mods), it's not just window dressing, there really is a lot packed into the mod - for those that want it, that is!

Once I've RAR'd it, it will still probably be smaller in size than Anno Domini for Civ III.

I still really doubt it will be 400 MBs. Ancient World is a total conversion as well, yet that only took up 10 MBs (granted, I did compress the images, but it's still only 25 MBs uncompressed. XML and LUA files aren't that big. It's weird to hear about 400 MBs....

Whilst I have stuff to add, I reckon by tidying up the files at the weekend, I can save quite a bit of space, so it should end up under 100MB.

Or use 7zip, it's totally free.

@sizes: That's not yet really big (overall meant). Civ4 mods can have >500 mb in compressed format, and more than 1 GB extracted.
But you have there a bit more possibilites with the assets than what you can do for Civ5 (yet?).

Its really big for a Civ V mod, at least. Over here, the largest I've seen have been ~35 mb compressed, and those were some in-depth total conversions.

Well if Rob managed to sneak in some fully animated leaderheads, that would absolutely take up a large amount of space.

If he really did that, I would be truly impressed, because, AFAIK, that's impossible (and its not a dll thing, either).

How about we wait and see when the mod comes out why it takes up so much space, and then we can most likely find ways to shrink the size (if possible and if he wants to). :P

I agree with Putmalk. All though I really want to know what is inside this mod, we should really wait until Rob fully releases it and allows us to "mod the mod."
