Goldflash
Civ III Modder, Civ VII Player
Ouch, man. Now you're a real Ouch Man.
Terrible news
Do you think you'd be able to recover any of the files?
Actually, that's probably good news. It sounds like an electronic failure rather than a mechanical one, maybe in the controller chipset or even a connector. If it were the drive platters (where the data is stored) going bad, you would likely have had corrupted files, BSODs, etc before the drive disappeared. When you turn on the computer, do you see the hard drive access light, or hear the drive spin up?The hard drive is undetectable - all of a sudden. I've put in another hard drive I had and that one works. I'll have a go tomorrow see what I can do, but I think I'll have no recoverable files.
It just clicks.Actually, that's probably good news. It sounds like an electronic failure rather than a mechanical one, maybe in the controller chipset or even a connector. This is why I've learned to always keep my ongoing projects backed up in version control on a separate drive. Hard drives are terribly treacherous devices.
Is this a laptop or a desktop.
Being elected as Emperor? Getting the Silk Road? Becoming the head of Christendom?
