Annoying ads

Do you mean if you get an add-timeout, then CFC times out too?
Because of how the ads are set up, if one wouldn't load, it would keep the screen blurred but there would be no way to close it 'cause the close button is part of the ad.

Well good.

Unrelated and not a real problem - my notification for Thunderfall's post reads "In 23 minutes". It does that when I back-button to finish reading where I was when I got the notification; I've seen the future predicted by as much as a day while I was multitasking...

I had this lovely thing just now spontaneously pop up in the middle of typing a PM, no idea if it's ad-related or not, but it nuked five minutes of my finite life composing before I could hit send.

Hey! - I haven't either in a couple days, beside that malware scam above, which is probably something separate...
Perusing, ahem, adult entertainment sites, there?

They often leave things like that affect other browsing.

Of course, I ONLY know that 3rd hand... :mischief:

The last week or so I got them consistently after my first click after opening the site, then none. This week I haven't noticed any, however (using Microsoft Edge).

The most surprising part is there are people who actually use Edge for something other than getting a better browser.

Semi-related but there was another forum that had a similar issue around the same time this one did. I won't name it for...reasons...but whatever the administration did there worked as well.

Okay, now there's a specific ad for some online casino, that will just pop up with a voice-over of a woman saying, "let's give it a spin," and a dramatic music sound-bite. It almost caused my heart to skip a beat the first time when CivFanatics was minimized at 2-3 AM in the morning. Can THAT be looked into, please?

I get them occasionally when browsing on my phone. They feel pretty intrusive.
