I want to start up a Colonies 3.2 PBEM. This is essentially John Eliss's Colonies Scenario version 3.12 with the following changes to better balance the scenario for multiplayer:

1) No Jesuits or Ambassadors (no bribing of cities or stealing techs)
2) A higher tech paradigm (longer time between discoveries)
3) More expensive Trade units, with no "freight unit" bonus for Merchants. (As humans use them better)
4) Randomizing the time when the major pirates appear, and to some extent, their location too.

I would like to play the English and I need two guys only to play the Spanish and French. I would rather the AI control the less desireable players in this scenario.

No cheaters please. I can email Colonies 3.2 to the two individuals who decide to enter this game.

I am looking for two people who are committed to a fast turn around in playing turns. I've been watching this forum for several months now and the lack of speed in some of these games is astounding. So if you can't commit to a fast turn around please dont volunteer to play.

I believe we are supposed to get a moderator or an umpire so if a third person would like to do that please let me know.

Order of play is French, Spanish and English so the French player would have to start the game.

Thanks

Assuming this is compitable with MGE, I'm for playing as the French. I'm all for a fast game, I hate bogged down PBEM's.

I have not played any colonies games before, it should be interesting.

Viva la France.

Send me your email and Ill send you the zip file for colonies 3.2. You can fire it up and take a look around the scenario, while we are waiting for player number three.
My email is: knapowski_seabee@crane.navy.mil
You need MGE to play and it is compatible.
Hopefully we will get a third player soon

News From France:

The Iroqois have declared war on me and have attacked my Canadian outposts. There actions must be punished. But I realize they are English allies, and we hope that this defensive action won't upset them. We are willing to partition northern Canada into spheres of influence if they wish, however the Iroqouis must be punished.

One pirate ship destroyed off the coast of Toulon.

Troops are moved to the vicinity of Avignon and Monaco.

The city of St. Marc on the Mexican coast is founded. The fertile lands will provide for growth of a mighty empire north of Spanish possessions.

It looks like we are off and running.
No problem beating down the Iroquois some. I try to keep them happy till I can build up forces in the new world. I would be more than happy to discuss establishing spheres of influence for us to split up North Amreica.
I should be able to play everyday. Weekends will be tough because I cant seem to post at my home email. Im sending Thunderfall a message today to see if he has any ideas.
If I cant post Ill at least download and then post first thing monday morning when Im back on my T-1 line at work. Or since I have your email I will email to you (since your are after me) and then Ill post monday morning so we can keep a record in this thread.

I need better maps before I can subdivided anything. Perhaps we can trade our knowledge, either online or using Yaroslav's Civ utility (I've never used it before, so I don't know if it will work).

BTW I will download yaroslav's utility and experiment with it this weekend. I assume you will do the same. Then lets discuss its use next week since Im still having a tough time posting at home. (No word from Thunderfall yet.) In the meantime your Cour de Bois are excellent explorer's if you can keep them far enough away from the independant indians. You will probally know a lot more about the map then myself very soon.

Spain is developing its colonies, which are threatened both by pirates and natives, and keeping trade between colonies and the mainland alive.

Killed Buccaneers at San Juan.

The great English Empire is beginning to line up extensive commerce between the old and new worlds. The English Supremacy of the seas is again demonstrated by English Privateers sinking a Pirate Barque near Tortuga. A handsome ransom was paid. The English Empire took considerable risk in ridding the Carribean of this particular Pirate menace. For our efforts we consider the Island of Tortuga to be in the English sphere on influence. Interference there will be considered an act of war!

please reload your game, I got an error while trying to load it. No such file or directory.

I also use 98. I've seen it happen before, sometimes it just happens. I'll see if it works.

Just a reminder:

I having trouble posting to the thread on my home email. If my turn comes up this weekend, Ill play it and email to PG. Then Ill post on monday.

Pirates in caribean, events mesage says.
Warning, Pirate Man of War off coast of Cordoba. For some reason, the pirate vessels are stronger than ours.
Rum trade established with London-Limoges.

Troops are moved next door to Avignon.
