REVOLUTION IN FRANCE, KING IS BEHEADED!
It appears the King and the citizenry of France are not one. The celebration over the mighty French Empire has apparently been shortlived. Irked by higher taxes and battlefield casaulties, and led by a newly prosperous middle class that has risen out of the industrial revolution, the French citizenry has risen up against their divinely appointed, yet aging King. An unruly mob dragged the King from his palace and beheaded him in the streets of Paris.
This has led to disorder throughout the entire empire, and food shortages in many cities. Calais and Le Harve are struggling to maintain order by temporarily hiring entertainers until their fleet elements can be safely returned to home port. We ask the English not to take over the ocean squares they were fishing in.
King's son, PinkyGen II elected President
Horrified at the actions of the mob, the newly formed Parliament elected the dead King's son, PinkyGen II as President. PinkyGen has promised to carry on the beneficial policies of past rule, but to bring prosperity to all. He also vowed to restore order throughout the empire.
Pirates Threaten Fort Pontcharr
Pirate dragoons have landed outside the fort, the gateway to the St. Lawrence. The attack caught the local govenor completely by surprise, peace had reigned on the island for so long, defenses are ill equipped to resist. It is expected the fort shall fall, and need to be reclaimed. Navy assault units are already on their way, though citizens clamour for their return to port.
Peace Signed with Spanish remants
Central America: One city destroyed, and Merida was occupied. However, the people grew tired of the war, and the unruly House forced PinkyGen to sign a peace with the Spanish. PinkyGen shall attempt to clear the Spanish remants out of the Americas, but will have to wait until the people are more willing.
To English: I suggest getting Democracy on your own, as gifting the tech will have you choose only then whether to have a revolution or not. Also, if you want to wipe out the Spanish, perhaps it is best to reduce science to 0 and forgo the tech.
