Another Imperialism 1870 PBEM

Who is allied to the U.S. here? Yop said for his allies to take over for him.

I´m his ally here. I´ll play this turn later.

* Havana, Santiago and Panama captured

OHWELL!!!

- 4 Japanese steamers FINALLY cross into the Caribbean... ;)

- 3 World ports built.

BUMPBUMPBUMP!!!!

If you need a replacement for this one, I'll join, since the ones I'm in at apolyton are going so slow. Or is there even any interest in this game anymore?

We need replacements for Eivind (Germany) and Yop73 (USA). At any rate, it's still Choke's turn!

Actually I think I can take Germany after all. It turns out we have a comfterably amount of spare time in the evening.

I can get a hold of Choke, but Yop's truly gone, so the US is available.

Eivind: :goodjob:

The nation was left confused and saddened as President Yop mysterious disappeared some time ago. Following a long and complicated series of battles and constitutional interpretations in the courts, it has been decided that Vice President Kirk shall assume the Presidency, effective immediately. Kirk offered thanks to his British allies for maintaining contacts with the American bureaucracy and ensuring that things ran smoothly during the transition.
Kirk's ascendence comes at a troubling time, as the Monroe Doctrine is under seige by those exploiting the political turmoil in the Union. Kirk also immediately stated that he finds German plots to interfere in America's backyard unacceptable, and will tolerate no German troops on the soil of North or South America, nor in the Caribbean. The German transport must immediately turn around and return to their land of origin, or they will face the might of the United States. Kirk iterated that he does not seek war, but will not hesitate to act if left no other choice in this situation. He also said he hopes this incident doesn't sour US-German ties, but also stated that there will be no negotiation of the matter.

Germany is at war with Spain and will only attack Spanish posessions. USA should under no circumstances feel threatened. We will continue to build ties between Europe and the USA. We have no other interest than punish the evil Spanish.

Punish the Spanish in your own hemisphere. If you undertake military action in the Western Hemisphere you are slapping the United States in the the face. The Monroe Doctrine has been well established for 50 years, there have been challenges to it many times in the past, and all have failed, as will this one. It is against the interests of the United States to have other powers meddling in her backyard.

While the Americas are of little concern to Japan, we'd like to state that any German aggression in the western hemisphere will result in war with all of America's allies. We can easily send our growing army to the East Indies before China...
