Any way to lock the game in strategic view?

My computer basically sucks so much that I only play this game in that mode. Is there a way to disable the rest, so my computer doesn't have to waste processing power, and saves load faster since they would not have to render the 3d images?

I looked at the INI files and I see no way to make this work.
However, since the strategic view does not use any of the "3D effects", you can put your system settings to absolute minimum. This should reduce the strain on your PC.

I'm looking for this also for playing on my laptop. Maybe try putting at the end of your UserSettings.ini file things like 'StrategicView=1' or 'StartStrategic=1'?
