Any way to stop a dog from snoring?

We've recently been having some trouble with or dog. She snores. LOUDLY. It's starting to get really annoying, and the only thing I can think of to fix it is to keep waking her up, but that's just cruel, and I refuse to do that. Has anyone had this problem with a dog before? And is there any way to keep her from doing it?

Hmm this is a tough one. How about this: when the dog is asleep and snoring, carefully tie a rope to its tail, trying not to wake it. Then take the other end of the rope with you outside, and when theres a red light, tie it to the rear bumber of the nearest vehicle.

edit: (Important: dont forget to leave your door open)

I had an old coonhound that loved to snore loudly, but we kept her in our basement (not the cold, dungeony type you might immediately think of) so I never really had to deal with it. When she came camping with us, and I did have to hear her, it actually put me to sleep faster knowing she was asleep.

all my four dogs wake up at the slightest sound for the most part. i hear one of the dogs snore once or twice. Is the dog in a nearby room or something? If it is indeed "nerve racking" then why wont use put collar and leash and tie her up outside, if the weather permits or in a room that will not disturb you.

Because they wake up or because they get scared that theyll be kicked again (whilst remaining asleep)?
Generally dogs wake up when kicked ;)

I can say as owner of a flat-muzzled pug, that you'll get used to it eventually.

Get rid of it and get a proper pet: i.e; a cat.

Cats purrrrr. (very much favourable to snoring dogs)

They make an OTC oral spray treatment for people that snore - works pretty well I think. Try spraying it in the dog's mouth and see what happens. Otherwise put 'em in a kennel outside, or laundry room, garage, etc.

Make her lose weight by limiting her food intake and increasing exercise. That will reduce or eliminate the snoring.

Your dog is a part of your family. Take it to the vet to make sure the snoring isn't being caused by some problem. If it isn't, learn to live with it.

P.S. - My cat snores.
