Hi guys. I'm trying to study the AI to see exactly how it works, but I can't seem to do it with the fog of war covering the entire map. My question is, is there a way to edit some files so that the fog of war is completely removed? I don't want to wait until I've researched a satellite to be able to do this, and I know there has to be away to tweak some files to reveal the entire map, but I don't know where to begin. Any suggestions?

satellites doesn't remove fog of war by the way, it just reveals the map excluding civs

There is a reveal tile mode in WorldBuilder. You would have to keep going into it, looking around, and doing it there every turn however. Best I got.

I think just giving yourself 50 spies all over the map with the world builder would be the best idea

hey, there is a way to remove the fog of war in the files. I got this off another thread. I can't remember the link, but here are the instructions. I did it myself so I know it works.

open up Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\XML\Technologies\CIV4TechInfos.xml

and do a replace all changing <bMapVisible>0</bMapVisible> to <bMapVisible>1</bMapVisible>.

You will be able to see the whole map, but it won't show where each civ is located until you find them or get someone to trade a map to you. Also things like resources and huts won't show up until you walk over the areas.

Worked for me!:p
