APETO Update T5
Resolutions Passed
Our organisation has been renamed APETO, by unanimous vote, and this goes parallel with our opening of membership to all Asia-Pacific nations.
The resolution regarding the dissolution of the Mutual Protection Pact has been denied. However, the APETO charter has been updated to take into account aggresive actions by member states.
Japan's request for the expellation of the Commonwealth Union has been denied with a vote of 1 aye, 3 nay, and 3 abstain.
By a vote of three against none, Iran is now considered a member of APETO and has complete rights of a member-state, along with the obligations involved (including preparing a Barney Force is 3 years).
Projects
The New Khmer Empire has paid 1 eco for Project Barney and Australia has paid 6 ecos for Project Barney. From the looks of things, we are pretty much on track. At the moment, nations owe Project Barney: -
Malaysia - 4 eco
Commonwealth Union - 4 eco
The Phillipines - 4 eco
New Khmer Empire - 1 eco
South Vietnam - 2 eco
Japan - 4 eco
Iran - 2 eco
HOWEVER, Project SEAINT is going slow. So far, only South Vietnam and Malaysia has paid off the whole amount to keep the project up. The Phillipines has paid half of what they owe. Please note that nations who don't pay will not benefit from the project.
At the moment, nations ower SEAINT: -
Australia - 3 eco
Commonwealth Union - 2 eco
The Phillipines - 1 eco
New Khmer Empire - 1 eco
Japan - 2 eco
Iran - 1 eco
Spotlight
With the recent events of India attacking and annexing Qatar, a Commonwealth Union state, the Commonwealth Union has activated the Mutual Protection Pact. As such, using my office as Secretary-General, I would like to implore ALL member-states to follow their treaty obligations.
I would like to form a coalition to liberate Qatar and pass Special Resolution X immediately, unless India provides suitable compensation to the Commonwealth Union.
Miscellaneous
With the liberation of Thailand, Malaysia hereby declares that the pre-war borders between Thailand and Malaysia are reinstated, save for a small economic zone in the Kra region of Thailand.
We also request that the New Khmer Empire does the same.
With that, I also reinstate Thailand into APETO, unless there are any arguments against it.
