Did you think that some religious types had lost touch with reality sometimes? Here's proof.

Dr. Richard Paley, teacher of Divinity and Theobiology
However, these propagandists aren't just targeting the young. Take for example Apple Computers, makers of the popular Macintosh line of computers. The real operating system hiding under the newest version of the Macintosh operating system (MacOS X) is called... Darwin! That's right, new Macs are based on Darwinism! While they currently don't advertise this fact to consumers, it is well known among the computer elite, who are mostly Atheists and Pagans. Furthermore, the Darwin OS is released under an "Open Source" license, which is just another name for Communism. They try to hide all of this under a facade of shiny, "lickable" buttons, but the truth has finally come out: Apple Computers promote Godless Darwinism and Communism.

:rotfl: are they serious?

i think you are right, greadius

The people who wrote it are jokesters, therefore it is a joke.

And a very absurdly funny one I might add.

No, the whole Chick organization is entirely serious! When I was mixed up in Christian fundamentalism at around age 12, I remember seeing tracts just like those--and I remember now, the name "Chick" attached to those tracts. Same artist, everything.

Pretty scary times those were for me at the old First Baptist Church in Oakdale, MInnesota (and later a Pentecostal one)--I'm so glad I got out of that whole scene.... (Brings back some BAD memories.)

"I'm a Christian libertarian who wants to legalize pot, porn, and prostituition. Great combination, eh?"

Actually, the two really aren't incompatable at all, if you look beneath the surface and beyond the dogma distorting the original ideas of Jesus. Jesus told the Pharisees "he who is without sin, may cast the first stone." That definitely and clearly indicates that Jesus did not intend to have religious admonitions be enforced by the force of law and guns. He was about persuading, not force. Too bad the fundies (and many others) don't see it.

I too am a libertarian, but I am not of any organized religion--although I tend to favor Buddhist philosophy. But I respect all people who are true to their principles and not hypocrites.

I've run into many Christian libertarians as of late though, and I respect them and welcome them to the cause of liberty! :goodjob:

My philosophy is ''Freedom to do what you like, as long as you don't interfere with the freedom of others''.
I may not agree with the morality of what someone does, but I don't think that my morality should be enforced by government, because my sense of morality isn't shared by everyone. I've been told that a libertarian Christian is an oxymoron countless times, hence the sarcasm of my above post. I love the look on my fellow Church goers faces when I tell them drugs should be legalized! ;) I was once an active member of the Religious Right, until I realized that maybe other people don't share my opinions on certain moral issues. I am also beginning to become rather distrustful of the Catholic Church, although I don't reject its theology[not yet, anyway]. Well, sorry about that semi-rant, I just wanted to make my beliefs clear. And its nice to know I'm not the only libertarian here!!:)

Quote from article: " 'Open Source' license, which is just another name for Communism."

From what I understand about the "open source" movement, it is made up of programmers who VOLUNTARILY share their material free of charge. If THAT is communism, well then, so is charity, or gift-giving....

Key word is "voluntary"--they are not (to my knowledge anyway, and I've read a bit about LINUX and open source) trying to get the government to outlaw software sales for money, let alone establish a "people's" (government) monopoly on same.

"Well, sorry about that semi-rant, I just wanted to make my beliefs clear. And its nice to know I'm not the only libertarian here!!"

We're everywhere....

:D

The fundamentalists often play the part of the Pharasees. Ironic, isn't it?
