oh my, that rifle looks especially nice! I'm definitly using it :O

but 1 thing, there is no scope on it. Should I try and fashion a scope myself or should I leave it without scope?
What is that thing you see on top of the rifle when you click on the image to open a larger view?

EDIT: look in the "what's included" list for which pieces are separate props. Just in case something might need to be resized to be visible at game-scale. ;)
In theory anyone with Poser could do that. If you could make a coat that fitted the PDM (in his default pose) and which could then be rigged within Poser (by e.g. me), that would be amazingly useful.
I've already imported the paperdoll mesh into blender to use as a reference against anything I might make. I'm willing to tackle it. But don't hold your breathe. It will be a couple of weeks until I see what pace the internship will take. Then I'll be able to allocate my free-floating-obsession hours accordingly.

OOH dang

ye, I found it, argh that was kinda dumb of me :P oh well >.>

bah, I can't find a good jacket to use.

the hipbag is also not as easy as I thought as there could be multiple variants. what exactly do you want with the hipbag? like, closed? bag as in backpack style? or open "leather bag" style, sort of like grocery shopping?

I'm thinking of a leather or cloth pack with an over the shoulder strap like this:

the scout carries supplies, binoculars, etc in it.

Perhaps you could find a small pack bag (with pockets, flaps, etc) and "draw" the strap across the unit's chest.
I dunno. It's just a detail on the guy I imagined.

I've been a bit occupied with university work last week, but it should calm down again next week. Also, I'm still unable to get a coat for the scout, so I'll do the spy first and hope .. any of you can supply me with a suitable coat? ^^

Hey Balthasar... Check out the list of units in the link I have here.
From Atlantica Online.

There may be some units that you might be able to use. I am going to try to get the units I need for CoMM3... and also can try to get any units that you may need, or other mods need before doing random ones.

Not all units are shown on the link... but many are. There are something like 800-1000 units (not sure, haven't counted :)).

Tom: not being able to see previews for these units really leaves me at a loss. So let me give you some general guidelines. As far as new units go, we need (in order of priority):

1. Any unit with four arms, or beasts with more than four feet. Jackpot points for tall, four armed green men. Any unit riding a beast with multiple feet should be automatically considered; also any four-armed Gorilla-type or six-or-more legged Lion or Horse/beast.

2. Headless units. (I saw some in the other set you were working from too, if I recall). We need these to make a Civ of all-headless units called Rykors. Best with minimal armor, but I'll take anything at this point.

3. Animals and beasts, unarmored. The Parrot and the Owl stood out on my first look. Fish would be surprisingly handy. I think I saw some dinosaurs..mmmmm...Raptors......

4. Humans. Always useful, particularly young maidens. I also saw listed some tantalizing things like Dracula, Mummy, Wolfman, etc. Any variation on those would be very welcome. We do have a Goth Civ that can use any gothic-themed unit, including Harpies, wolves, witches, ghosts and Bats.

5. Speaking of Ghosts...since I learned to flag some as "air" units, I suddenly have great use for them...

Speaking of maidens, those "doll" characters are striking. I'd like to see some of those made even if I don't find an immediate use for them.

So you want to leave it up to me, eh? Well, first of all, I endorse all of King Arthur's picks. He's the leader of this project, after all, but I also agree. I know we've picked a lot of units, but you can't open up an archive of hundreds of units and expect a modding team to pick just one, or even just a few. That's a very rich archive with units from every era. I hope you mine it for all it's worth.

Following, then, is a list of units I'd like to see made. I've spent some considerable time winnowing this list down to just what we could use, and tried to also list each category in order of priority:

Spoiler :

Wasteland Desperado - this, along with the 'Sunset Desperado' are actually western cowboys

Flashy Bartender - a good any-era unit

Head Miner- again, depending on the animations.....

Evil Archer - would be a hero unit on Barsoom

Wanted Man - an old english Highwayman

Dark Queen's Archer- looks like that sensational babe in Van Helsing and has a crossbow!

Animals_______________________________________________________

Trained Raptor-this one and the next three are Dinosaurs, and we can always use more dinos!

Volcanic Pterosaur

Yellow Thorned Lizard

Frilled Lizard

Silver Armadillo

Universal Mining Robot - Steam powered!

The next three are just immobile relic-type collectibles:

Hidden Jar

Grandfather Clock

Marble Clock

I know; 45 units (and that's my heavily edited version). Don't Panic. Just think of it as a big buffet, from which you can pick and choose for the next year....

...and thanks Tom, for making this offer in the first place!

I always thought you were the leader of the project Balthasar  I change my mind then, I'm going with KingArthur's list then ;) A shame you wrote that whole list, and now I am going to ignore it! Just Kidding.

BTW, KingArthur, thanks for those other links; I didn't find them on that site, but they help greatly to know what is what (opposed to having to open units in 3ds Max one at a time).

I'm still trying to get mask's working correctly in 3ds Max to hide portions of units that are transparent in the Atlantica Online game. The concept is simple enough, but 3ds is a strange program indeed, and nothing is ever what it seems! Not all units have these in their texture files, so I'll do those in the meantime.

EDIT: Just figured the masks out! Extremely easy, I was making things more difficult than they were... Now I can finally get to work (after spending the last 2 days getting frustrated over this).

On our first scenario. :mischief:

Mycroft, Robur, Nunez & Carnehan sit down for cigars & brandy. "I have a cunning plan..."

i have a idea for the project. id like to see more diversity in unit types rather then seeing units ment for a certain civilization. I.E. the same unit but in diffrent colors. i dont want this. i want diversity in units. also i noticed that there was a jack the ripper unit and you spoke of a London ,england world map. and there was also talk of putting charaters residences on the map of the city. Jack the ripper lives at 14B, Heresford Lane.

its obvius that the steam punk world might have to utilize diffrent mod packs to convey the entire world. cuase you would have city terrains and others.

for the London city steam punk game i would rather each city represents a bourgh of the city of london rather then a individuals house and also the map would exstent outwards from london and posibily eventually have farm tiles. all you got to remember it to include the residence adresses in the unit disriptions in the Civilpedia.
