Archos and Great Library?

yup, just not available to them best I can tell. I think all teh Barb friendly cities are that way.

it's because you can't build libraries. All barbarian civs have that limitation, I believe.

they're just not the scholarly type.

It's still seems confusing because they don't have that "requires 3 libraries" text because they have no libs. There should be some tip for them (or remove the wonder from them at all).

There should be a list of "blocked buildings" at the starting pop-up screen. And in the civilopedia entry for the civ.

Actually I would love a better list of Unique buildings for all the races in their Civopedia entries.

My game as the Archos, I can't remember the name of the building that effects the spawn rate of the brood. (or even if there really is one) The Archos' civopedia lists MANY unique units but only 2 unique buildings and one of those is the palace.

A list of blocked, non unique, buildings would be nice also.

The lists auto-create themselves from the game data. The only thing which the lists cannot account for is python generated buildings (like the Dwarven Vaults). So for those you have to just make certain to set things up in the CivilizationInfos to still indicate the link between Civ and building.

Not sure that I am aware of any such building to affect spawn rate. Just population, and then the spawn quality is affected by having sacrificed spiders to your Brood.

I see 5 blocked buildings, and 2 unique ones as of last patch.

Maybe it was just the act of having additional cities that helped... I have SO forgotten where I saw that refrenced a while back (042 era)

The library is correctly displayed in the blocked buildings list, in the Civ's info. BtW.
So, the original question is answered in-game.

I think his confusion is that the Great Library still shows up greyed out in cities where as a regular Library simply doesn't show up at all.

I think maybe the Great Library should also be blocked

Exactly. (10 chars)

What needs done is an automated block to keep it from even making the building visible if you do not have access to the required buildingclass. And a shift in the number of required buildings for Kuriotates on maps where they are not allowed enough cities to meet the requirement.

I do not think this would be necessary. The GL is grayed out and it says "Requires 3 Libraries" in red text. You know you cannot build libraries, so this should be enough, IMO.

I don't think it carries the "Requires 3 Libraries" for the Archos as the Archos UB for Library is nothing. It's a relatively small tweak to explicitly block the Great Library from the Archos, Clan and Doviello (thus making things a little more intuitive) - but are there other cases that deserve the same treatment? Are there any other buildings that rely upon something that cannot be built by certain civs? I'd like to do them all at once if I'm doing them at all for consistency's sake...

Although I agree with the spirit, I would vote for completing the missing entries in the civilopedia first, then starting tweaks for consistency...
There are lots of needed information that either have missing TXT_ENTRIES or they have no information at all, and they are very important for playing a civ.

Knowing where those are too would be handy :)
