OK, it seems that a whole lot of people do not like their starting positions, some thought the last start was a trial start, and my son voted for a restart on a predrawn map as well.

So, here is what I am going to do; I will take the old map and make it for 18 players only without the mod.

I will have:
America
Carthage (in California)
Aztecs
Inca
Arabs (in Brazil)
Egypt
Mali
Zulus
England
Rome
Persia
Russia
Mongols
China
Japan
India
Vikings (in Australia)
Korea (in Thailand)

It will go live in the morning, 8am Saturday March 17, US EST.

If you want a civ, take it if you can, no reserevations.

Everyone will start with a capitol city (pop4), secondcity (pop3) and in each 2 spearmen, 4 food production squares, and a copper mine (Japan will ahve an iron mine).

This is the last restart unless thegame crashes again, then I will load the last save file.

RESTART! ! !

I had to as Russias second city had ZERO BUILDINGS.

That is just oo much of a handicap and I dont see how I missed that.

EVERYONE RESTART WITH THE SAME CIV YOU HAD BEFORE.

As this is an unanounced restart, we need to keep things friendly. Dont snatch a civ out from under some unsuspecting person; take the one you had in the game that we just ended.

I will set remaining unclaimed civs to AI tomorrow morning just to keep the civ from losing a turn.

JMaltman (was Mali) - I'm in, and I want a new random Civ and leader

What I want to play is an Earth-type map with a 'quick start' of two cities and ancient techs given.

How do you propose that we do this with your random civ leaders and civs?

You trust me to lottery for everyone?

Maltman I am not trying to be a smart alec, but I would like to know if there is a way to do this andstill ahve the map and quick start.

Yep we do trust you to lottery it. - that's certainly what I was thinking, get a 3rd party to do it if you'd prefer that but I'm happy with you doing it.

Yup, like I mentioned in the other thread.

Heck, I trust you to make the map and host the game, so I trust you to do this.

Like I said before - just number everyone as they agree to sign up (in the first post here would the best spot for it), and then make a list of all the Civs, and then do a random number generator to give a sequence of all the numbers, and it would assign the player numbers to the order of the Civs. And at that point people could pick which leader they want from their civ, or do some swaps if they're really unhappy (especially if there's empty spots open).

I'm interested! Though it would be my first pitboss game. I am used to playing on Gamespy but would love to try another style of MP.

I agree with IanDC and JMaltman as this seems the fairest way of doing it. If we can't trust you to do this fairly we might as well not play this game. All the old players are also assured of a spot in this game.

Might be time to get an idea on numbers to date, from the threads we have -

OK, will do, but I will use polyhedral dice if you guys dont mind.

If I join this, it will be mis first Pitboss right from the start. I am currently a replacement for a player in a Pitboss game.

Is this Vanilla or warlords?

Warlords.

IanDC, thanks for the list.

I will put it at the top of the page and edit my first post to reflect the lottery.

Can you please put the time in GMT as this will save any confusion, because you could be talking about Australian EST or American EST.

I'll use American EST and GMT for those not familiar with US EST.

For future reference, because I know I will forget, I live in Fredericksburg Virginia, USA, and use EST to mean American EST (East Coast Standard Time).

BTW, are you signing up?

Well, they need to sign up if they want to play.

I hate to bump any old players, but they need to speak up for themselves because I dont want to hold spots open and see them not filled.

If it's my destiny to be French, I'd prefer to be Louis Quatorze, bien sûr! :)

So DanDRidge and I are switching personalities? That's a funny roll of the dice.
