[NFP] Are Barbarians Spawning Faster?

Hard for me to say for sure, but I definitely feel like barbs are spawning faster than they were before the last patch. Two games now I've watched a barb encampment spit out 3-4 units in a few turns. Fairly early on in the game too. I've seen a couple other mentions in threads that barbs are harder after patch. Is this true?
 
They "fixed" something .. apparently this is working as intended now .. of course they probalby only tested the"fix" on prince or something .. pretty terrible.

Just the other day I had 3 scouts at my cap on turn 12, and a barb camp spawned 6 tiles from my cap 3 turns later. easily 50% of my game time is restarting out of crap like this now.
 
I have been surprised to see Barb boats in sets of three coming to attack cities placed on the coast. No hard data but I seem to see this.
 
I have been wanting g to post about this for awhile now. I have noticed an increase as well.

I placed a new city near Germanys border. Had a barb camp spawn. Never got a notice until 3 barb swords and an archer started hitting it.

I lost the city and it took me considerable time to remove the camp.

I play on diety and in another camp I noticed the surprise proof Canadians getting rocked by barbs.

They don't just spit out one scout and you kill and its all good. I have watched them spit out several along with their horsemen. Only saving grace was they were on a peninsula and I kept them contained.
 
I took another approach to dealing with barbarians: diplomacy.

First I build three warrior envoys and send them to the closest camps to negotiate treaties.
If we can't agree on terms, I send archers with additional gifts.

By the time I'm done, I amass quite an experienced diplomatic choir that I proceed to send to my friendly neighbors.
I find that gifts of iron, horse and niter are quite irressistible.
