There is a saved-game compatibility issue between some forum members. It seems Pigumon's saved games cannot be opened by myself and Txurce. Not only can these games not be opened from a thread attachment, but they can not be opened through email attachments either. It looks like we've got one for all the super sleuths out there.

Lets get crack'n boys!

Below pic is from one such failure, not that it'll be much help. I will say this, when I get a saved game from Txurce, it looks like a saved game from one of my own games (little earth map). When I get Pigumon's, it looks like a PC save (blank paper w/ the turned down right corner).

The appearance of the saved game you sent me is blank paper style, as the same as you described mine. But I can open it and play it. When I downloaded from forum before, only earth map style could work.

I do not know why. Could be related to my OS.

When you send the file, make sure that you affixe the file extension to it if it is not displayed. Also hit sho info from your file menu and make sure that the file extension is displayed. This might be the cause of the problem, also saved game files don't work if they are saved on a newer version if they are opened with an older version.

Are you sure about this? You're saying, if I save a game under 9.2 and email to someone w/ 9.0, the saved-game will not open for him? Hmmm. Are you sure?

I know Pigumon is using 9.0, and I'm using 9.2. He can open my saved games, but I was unable to open some of his saved games. If what you're saying is true, then Pigumon and I would have the reverse problem. Maybe I'm not reading your post right.

Oh, if so, I'm sure Pigumon and I are running the latest patch, 1.21g.

There's also a possibility that the file got corrupted, either because Pigumon's game is corrupted (though it still may be playable) or the transfer was corrupted.

What browser do you use to download the files? I know you said that you're having this problem with email attachments as well, but I was having this same problem, with the same error screen, downloading Tourney games from the forum using Moz (v 1.2b). However, downloading them thru IE worked just fine.

It did confuse me that the first few tourney games downloaded fine in Moz, but then after that I could only do it thru IE -- maybe this was a switch in who was posting them?

And no, the Moz problem was never a file extension issue -- the files were always .sav, although I think it's true that they were "blank" document icons instead of the saved game icon.

IE 5.0

It appears we can open Pigumon's when he does a file upload of a zipped saved game. But, we cannot open his emailed saved games or those in thread attachments.
