Are there other Victory Conditions planned?

In Vanilla Civ, once the scales tip in my favor, I usually shoot for the quickest victory. Often that means grab 50-60% of the population and elect myself at the UN. The closest shortcut to Conquest or Domination in FFH is Religious.

The victory conditions in FFH either require some early preparation (Towers, Cultural) or tedious conquest after victory is assured (Conquest or Domination). Is there any plans to add any victory conditions? Maybe something akin to the UN and SS?

I can see problems with a UN victory with the Good/Evil addition to FFH. With same alignment having such a dramatic diplomacy effect, and the ability to change your alignment with religion.

Also, I really like that Teching isn't the end all, be all in FFH, so a condition that sends the AI into Tech Whore mode from turn 1 may also be a negative. It would be nice, however, if there were a condition base on production/tech advancement.

OK. I'm done rambling. Any comments?

How about capturing all the mana nodes in the world? If say, for 10 straight turns all the nodes are within your cultural borders, you win. Rewards people who like to explore the map, and might require less effort than Domination.

You know about the Tower of Mastery victory condition, right? That's supposed to be the builder victory, though in practice it still requires quite a bit of conquest.

In practice, there is no builder victory. The Tower of Mastery requires a heckuva lotta mana and Religous (for me) has meant razing shrines and enemy 'unbelievers.'

Are there any victories that the AI will shoot for?

Time (yes I know,) and culture can be builder victories. Maybe a ritual triggered time victory will give the AI something to shoot for.

That's a great idea, maybe a project that requires compenents from multiple tech trees, kind of like the SS victory in Civ2. It would give a builder a win strategy and give the conquest-minded some urgency.

Just wanted to add my 2c here as it seems the victory conditions could benefit from a little brainstorming relative to the more polished state of the early game :) (But as this is my first post in this forum let me first congratulate the design team! I'm sure you all understand that we wouldn't be taking time to criticize if we didn't love this mod and appreciate all your work.)

The religious victory condition is either very (too?) hard, or I don't understand the mechanics very well. It seems like in normal play even a seemingly dominant world religion is never very close to the winning score, and the only way I've made much progress is by razing other Holy Citys. So this seems like "Pseudo-Conquest". Maybe it's just not newbie friendly.

Tower of Mastery: ... I like the idea. But all those mana requirements, and it's definately "Pseudo-Conquest". Maybe you could break the tower into more pieces like the Spaceship, and have each piece build 50% bonus with the correct mana or with a certain mini-tower. The best part, is this would free up the mini-towers to be awesome world wonders, instead of .. well, bland national wonders. (I understand that you need some bland items on a builder victory, but it's a pity to waste the towers!) Tower of Elements could, say, open up nukes, FfH style. Tower of Necromancy actually is already interesting, but could be much more of a good thing as a world wonder maybe allowing a unique unit. Etc.

Final idea, how about a (or competing) tech race victory(s)? Not simply "Get to Future Tech 10 and win" like in GalCiv, but something where each step towards it changes the world itself and your foriegn relationships (presumably for the worse). My memory is a little foggy but I remember the tech victory in SMAC being pretty cool as you became one with the planet, as the Gaia-bugs came out in force and factions were forced to choose "with you" or "against you". In FfH I can imagine long "tech race" trees extending from each religion and gradually changing the face of the world as the game goes on... Ancient and deadly forests spring up, Hell-gates open, Sea-monsters are called from the depths, riots inquisitions plagues and pestilence. Good times.

That sounds really good, (didn't QES think of something similar with his paragon idea?) it would be really amazing to see something like that in FFH.
