Just a demographics poll, but with a twist: where you live, AND where you would prefer to. Discuss what you see as pros and cons of urban, suburban, or rural living below.

I chose the last. It's not completely accurate as in Israel everything is so close that the difference between a small town and a suburb is arguable.

I live in the city, would like to be rural. Sometimes I just hate the city.

I live in a suburb, but have lived in a city. I enjoyed living in the city, but when I establish a family it will be suburb for me.

For the time being: nr 4

Edit: Rural is OUT OF THE QUESTION :p

I moved to a small town a year ago, mostly for employment, but I really, really miss the city.
I wouldn't mind the small town life if it was more quirky/interesting like they portray it on T.V. but the truth is they are boring as hell.

Live in a nice efficient clean city. Like it. At least, the buses and trains come on time. :)

Easy to do shopping too, considering I don't have a car.

Oh yeah, that's another reason I hate this town: the buses stop running after 6:00 PM.

Live in the suburb. Have two (maybe it's one) sexual offender living a stones throw away from my apartment. Don't let the kids out much. . .

I'd rather live in the country. . . nicer, quieter. We did this for a bit, ended up moving into the suburbs. Don't mind the rural life, just hate being away form everything.

Live in city, like it.
Though, I sometimes need to come back to rural area to enjoy nature and silence.

I'm a city girl trapped in a tiny hick town. My high school is in the middle of a cow pasture god d*@&^ it! And they process the manure right next to the school. There's absolutely nothing to do unless you're on the rifle team...yes we have a rifle team...they travel a lot. Everything pretty much shuts down at 9:00pm. The nearest theatre is an hour away. "Downtown" consists of Mega Foods, Albertson's, Fred Meyer, a bar, and (amazingly) a Starbucks. If you don't worship God, you're the devil, if you don't play sports, you don't exist, and if you don't wear cowboy boots, you're laughed at. I'm an atheist artist with some fashion sense, so I've pretty much been shunned,:mutant: though there are just enough more of my kind for a club...National Art Honors Society. If it weren't for that I'd go completely insane. GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!:help:

Post a picture of you.
I'll then see what I can do to help, then.

Sorry, couldn't resist :D

I live in a neighborhood that feels like a suburb, though it's really close to the city. I don't know how that classifies out.

Personally, I'd rather live in the city itself, or in some small town. Anywhere but this damned 'burb.

Be happy about it. We don't have any buses here and we have to go down to the main road to catch a bus. Not to mention that most of these buses go through Megido where a large bus attack already happened so taking a bus might not be a good idea at all.

Most people in our community work in cities, but moved to here for a better life style. I hate being in a city. All that noise, and all these people.... I hate people....

You bet, I'm right near the border!

Hopefully the new surroundings won't startle you too much once you get here, because it sounds like it'd be quite a drastic change... a Save-On-Foods instead of the Mega-Foods... not one, not two, but THREE bars. Of course the locals will probably still burn you at the stake for your heathen ways, but at least you don't need the cowboy boots.

And... we have Starbucks too! :p

I live in a suburb and like it just fine. It's a good compromise between being near things to do like in a city and having a bit more room to breathe.

Same as Polymath. As I get older, and hopefully with a stable job and what belongs to it, I think it'd be nice to live in the country - though not too far from the city. :D

Maybe you guys could just start up an escape fund for me...I could use the money to go to an out-of-state college.

I'd definitely stop complaining about the bus schedule after the first time one of them exploded.

I live in the city and have lived in a rural area for many years. I prefer the city, think I'm more of an urban creature.
