Ares' Symphony of Destruction (Sound thread)

Will you be adding ancient/medieval weapon sounds? Or will ya keep it just for modern age firearms? Some culverins and bombards would always come in handy.

@Ares;

Do you have also a warship hoorn blow? U know...the whoooop sound! Hahaha, I dont have any clue how to discribe it :-) They use it when they leave the docks normaly I think.

I hope you know what I mean....I would like to use it as a victory sound.

Added two sounds you might like on the 1st page.

I'll see what I can do.

I'm not sure you should put him up to that his neighbors might complain ;)
If they complain, then next time he should fire at a pile of matresses or old tyres instead of the neighbours' dog.

You can just download the .mp3 file and cut it yourself.

I don't have tools for that and its to long procedure to download video then extract sound from that part so if that sound don't exist already, I can use something else.
It doesn't have to be exact that sound but any version of similar samurai victory would work.

Hi Nexxo, I just checked the sound and it's very low quality. Did you check out the Banzai victory sound in Shiro's new Modern Japanese Infantry?

I must ask the master if it´s possible to get a sound from a 1876 Gatling Gun added.

The Maximgun sound is just to "speedy" for the slow cranking methodic sound of the hand-cranking Gatling. Since imperator had made several of this fine unit I would be very happy to have that distinc sound.

Just watched The Last Samurai, and that final charge had the perfect sound indeed.

Is it too much to ask ??? Master Ares

I've been missing the sound for the Gatling myself. So I put something together.
It's not meant to be accurate, but simply the Firaxis rifle firing sound mixed.

Hopefully someone with better skills than me, can use this :)

OK, that sounds good. That Gatlinggun.wav file is a bit too fast for a poor soldier cranking that Gatling but it will work until a better comes along.
Thanks a lot

Then I must ask a question considering the ini-file.

This new sound is just playing once, while the unit keep cranking out bullits. Putting in another earlier sound, like the lewis_mg.wav file it keeps playing unitl the fight is over.
I have all the other files in the ini on the same place,
ATTACK1=GatlingAttack.wav
which only gives one turn, not repeating
ATTACK1=lewis_mg.wav
gives repeating fire.

In the flc-section all is the same naturally, so it´s got to be the wav-file itself.

In winamp both wavfiles keeps repeating their sound....

clamel... it isn't the .ini file. ATTACK1 is correct and the Sound .wav has the correct Format.
The Sound Shots need to match the Animated Shots to correct the Shot speed and the length of the .wav needs to be adjusted to the length of the Attack Animation. The GatlingAttack.wav is 1.8 seconds...probably too long for the animation.

IF you only have ATTACK1, it Repeats (Note that ATTACK1 is the sound that is used for Bombardment even when the Unit uses more Attack Sounds for its Attack)

IF you also have ATTACK2, it plays after ATTACK1 then ATTACK2 Repeats until the animation is finished.

IF you also have ATTACK3, it Plays after ATTACK2 then All 3 Attack Sounds will play and Repeat 1,2,3, 1,2,3 until the animation is finished.

I thought I tried this messing around with using attack2 and 3, but another try filling in the flc-file and the gatlingattack,wav in all three slots worked.

In this case the wav-file isn´t too long or short. My first case was that it was too short with just attack1 used.

Thanks mate, I must have grown some extra thumbs .
