I've been doing a lot of reasearch recently into the arms trade and illegal arms trafficking.
i was thinking about how in CivII you could "give" a unit to a forign power as a present.
why not bring the arms trade into the game, considering its one of the largest industries on the planet, and its fuelled every war in the modern period?
we don't have to worry about what is better "M4 vs AKM" debate, basically each Civs level of tech with their industrial capabilities would decided who has developed the most advanced arms, it could be catagorized into several fields "Small arms/light weapons" "Heavy Weapons" "Aircraft" "Tanks/Armour" etc.
you will find if your weapons are the most advanced and have good a reputation everyone on the planet will be wanting to be buy your civ's brand of machine guns or fighter-jets.
Easy money!
if your neighbour needs military assistance send him 10,000 machine guns to help him out!
also the UN might get annoyed with you if you keep exporting weapons to an evil dictatorship for cheap oil!
that could lead to sanctions!
