As of now, which is your favorite Civ to play as, and your least favorite?

I don't really play Indonesia religiously, I like spamming their Kampungs after conquering other Civs with my mostly faith bought navy. :p
Yeah I'm with you, buying boats with faith feels great! Almost feels like the Vikings should have had that ability too considering their Stave Churches

My favorite is Germany. I like the non-obvious synergy between abilities. The hansa is powerful, and allows you to build your extra districts faster. You also get an advantage toward taking over city-states so you can more easily take them and build more districts in your newly taken city.

My least favorite is Nubia. 3 of their abilities are city building based, and I don't find their particular brand of the district placing game to be any fun.

I used to dislike Russia as I'd tried several times and had trouble getting off the ground with them. Idk what was wrong with me, as of my most recent game i am stunned.

I'm on turn 320 and it feels like I've got practically every great writer that has been, let alone the other types. I used to always get mad at Russia for waving their shiny people in my face but now I understand their plight, too much works for too few slots.

I haven't had a good time when I've tried playing kongo. Maybe it's the same issue and I need to give it another chance. But I hate jungle starts and I don't like relying so much on the luck of goody huts/kandy to take advantage of their ability early.

Even though China matches my playing style as a Wonderfreak, I just find it boring to play as. I also don't really like the religious civs as it is just not an aspect that interests me all that much. I don't know if I can say I have a favorite, yet.

I should probably give France a try as I kinda enjoy espionage. It gives me something to do than killing people in war all the time.

The Aztecs are a lot of fun, with abilities naturally complimenting one another. Also, I enjoy playing as Indonesia, the UI and UU of which are incredibly fun to play with.

On the other hand I can't ever find myself enjoying a game as Egypt or France (I think largely because I dislike the UIs).

I found the same. On paper, China looks tailor-made for me; in practice, I hated both games I played as them. France is much more fun for wonder-spamming.

Yeah, the only nice part is to pay boats with faith, since I dont use it for anything else. I dont really hate playing with them, but as deutschDachs said I dont play with religion at all, i actually never build holy sites lol

Don't forgot the powerful Kampungs! :D

Right now, it’s probably Nubia. I like the infrastructure building aspect. England is fun, too. I like being a culture vulture and I really commerce and making scads of $$$$.

Mongolia, when released, will be my favourite. I love the culture and the people. It’s funny because I am not much of a warmonger in Civ, at all. Maybe 1 in 10 games, at most. I rarely declare wars.

So, I play 50% of the time as a warmonger and 50% of the time as a peaceful builder as Mongolia. :P
