Random question. Would packing my modules into a fpk file or two help reduce the stress from loading all the stuff?
oh, that's an interesting one, i'm gonna need to look if it's the dural or something else.Hi, first post in this forum. I have been playing FFH2, RiFE and now AoE to the exclusion of almost all other games since I discovered the mods several months ago and I want to congratulate all of you who have been responsible for the mods for the effort, vision and quality that have obviously been used to create/refine them.
I have hit a bug in a game that I am currently playing: SVN 341, Dural, Ophelia with the default modules enabled. When I add units to certain Tacticians they gain a duckhead promotion (zzzzTestPromo) when in the Tactician's range which gives them +400 move, move through mountains, training benefits, etc. This promotion disappears if the unit is detached from the tactican or moves out of the tactician's range but reappears when you add the unit back to the tactician. It does not apply to all units attached to tacticians and did not start happening until c. turn 300.
I tend to play at lower levels as I am more interested in building and discovering what can happen/has been designed rather than fighting a vicious fight to the death from turn 1.
added to the todo list
i'll check for that one, i remember working on it, but not sure whether it's solvedAnother problem that I found in ffh2 (and in RiFE IIRC) but I have not checked in AoE, is a CTD whenever trying to unload a unit from a naval unit by r/clicking on a land square that is not adjacent to the ship.
yeah i need to rewrite the diplo text selection, it's on my todo list. This is a long-standing issue with FfH modmods, but generic diplo text usually is used in place of unique diplo text, even for leaders who have it. One of the modders told me years ago this is because of the fact that not all leaders have unique diplo text, but I wonder if there is a way to work around that.
I dont know if this will be of help to you, but in my case i had noticed a persistent crash at game start/loading which has something to deal with memory. This occured to me since 2013 with win 7 and still happens now at win 8 with current SVN version. After many, many attempts to solve it i had noticed a peculiar thing that those crashes are dependent on me using Mozilla Firefox. I tend to have lots and lots of tabs open which takes much of memory, but never more than one third of a total amount. Still, i can say with certainty that for me the game crashes with firefox open when i have enough free memory or even after i close it. So i tried RAM cleaning programs (im using RAMMap currently, "Empty Standby List" command) and it worked for me! I managed to play new game and even load old ones. Loading big worlds still takes a couple of tries sometimes but eventually loads.... it just crashs whenever i try to play...
