Edit: Formerly named "Ask a Part-Time Pettyologist -- THE SECOND TRY." I decided to trim down the title a bit.

OK, so this time its in the right section, and Ill add a few more OP things to make sure it don't go down in a ball of spam.

1. There is no such thing as a Pettyologist. It was just something someone jokingly called me after they were not able to stump me with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers questions.
2. To become a full-time Pettyologist, you have to be independently wealthy.
3. This is for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers questions, not questions about being a Pettyologist.
4. Before asking me very simple questions, I highly recommend wikipediaing it. Though Wikipedia isn't complete it's a good place to start. This is so the thread dont get shut down for asking too many small spam questions.

PLEASE, PLEASE, Id like it to stay open a second time, so dont go trying to de-train the thread.

No I am not. There are no girls in the Heartbreakers.

How many other Pettyologists do you know?

When you go to a Tom Petty concert, how many Pettyologists do you take with you?

What are some of the ways to tell the difference between a Petty fan, a Petty fanatic, and a Pettyologist?

(If they can be distinguished as different levels of knowledge/devotion to things Petty)

I cant think of any other Pettyologists, except a few guys on the officials who dont post there much anymore. Dont know where they've went, though it wouldnt surprise me if they split like I did.

I've never been to a concert. And it's Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

A casual fan, is what me and a friend call "Hitters." They don't know a whole lot beyond the Greatest Hits and most likely don't know any of the other Heartbreakers (although a few Hitters Ive met know about Mike Campbell).

A Petty fanatic would have most-all of their albums and know who the other Heartbreakers are. Theres actually a few who like one of the Heartbreakers more than Petty (like my friend who made up the term "Hitters").

A Pettyologist knows a whole lot about them, including the Heartbreakers, I often search for them as they are on a whole lot of outside albums. Theres only a few of them that I can think of and I dont know where the heck they went. Im more like a wannabe Pettyologist :(

It's unexplainable.

I just got a hold of another documentry, from 1982 or 1983. Heartbreakers Beach Party. Its pretty good, and leave it to Tom Petty to compare doing a concert with sex. And it seems like the Heartbreakers got lost on their way to the stage and there is a lot of beeping and "We're in the wrong room!"

EDIT: Or on the way back from the stage ... not too clear.

Are you sure that wasn't Spinal Tap?

HELLO CLEVELAND!

Link to video.

Nah, it was a Heartbreakers documentary, so ...

I might upload that part just cos its pretty funny.

Do you ever watch King of the Hill? What is your general opinion of King of the Hill What do you think of Lucky, played by Tom Petty, on King of the Hill? If it were not for the voice of Tom Petty, would you watch King of the Hill? Do you think it's ridiculous that The Cleveland Show replaced King of the Hill?

I don't watch TV at all, though a few of my Petty friends watch that show just for Tom's character.

Im not good at opinion questions.

Does that not render this thread a bit weak?

Why is your username about the Beatles...

I was mainly a Beatles fan when I made the account. I still am. :)

What I mean by opinion questions is that I dont really have so much favourites. I dont have a favourite album.

Petty is okay, just an average rocker. Nothing bad about him, but nothing exceptional good about him either.

fav songs are probably you don't have to live like a refugee (not sure if that's the actual song title), don't come around here anymore.

Those two songs are Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers songs, dont mix that up with Tom Petty solo. It's called just "Refugee," from Damn the Torpedoes, 1979 album. Petty spent about 15 minutes writing the song (Mike Campbell wrote the music) and then they did over a hundred takes on it and Stan Lynch (original drummer) says that song nearly broke up the band. I would take that last bit with a grain of salt.
